Hey everyone a quick announcement about a rule change. In the past we have not allowed members to post links to offsite (non Hotcouponworld) blogs without approval first. This rule has changed.

Effective today you may post content from other deal/frugal blogs with link and credit to the originating blog without approval first. However, we do ask that the link and content follow these rules:

*You may not just drop a link. We consider link dropping spam and we have a zero spam tolerance policy and will ban all member that spam our website.

*You may copy and paste the content from your blog or a blog that you read and give credit to the blog by name and with a link to the blog or blog post.

*Content must be relevant to the content of Hotcouponworld and be posted in the appropriate forum or thread. So if you find a blog post with a great Albertsons deal for this week. you need to post it in the Albertsons forum in the current weekly deal thread.

*All posts still need to follow the rules of the site and cannot encourage or discuss fraudulent activity or otherwise violate the Terms of Service or Community Rules of Hotcouponworld.

*The rule regarding links in your signature is still in effect, you must add a HCW banner to your blog and ask to be added to our blog roll in order to have a approved link to your blog in your signature (please feel free to PM me or Sbp if you need assistance with that)

*This rule applies to personal blogs only and does not apply to other forums that are competitors to Hotcouponworld (you may still give credit to those sites with credit to the OP (Original Poster from the other site) and the sites initals (Example: "Thanks to Hotcouponmama at HCW) but you cannot link to these forums.

We want to foster sharing between Hotcouponworld and the many great deal blogs out there.

There has been some major issues these past few weeks regarding the ad threads, and what posts belong where. This is JUST regarding the deals and the ad threads.

If you want a deal to be posted in the original weekly deal thread, PLEASE post it in the correct format.

The entire point of the design of these threads are so people can quickly take a minute or two to browse the first post and know exactly what they need for the week.

It may be a challenge to get used to the format, but once you get used to it, it only takes a few seconds longer to to post it in the correct format and it will help hundreds of posters in the CVS forum. It will also help me as I usually just scan the thread for the format and then c/p it to the OP.

Here is the format:

Product here, Overage/FREE/GDA here ( your user id )

TOTAL:
SALE: Sale price
MQ: Coupon PLUS SOURCE here
CVS Q PLUS SOURCE
ECBs Earned
MATH: (So if there's a mistake, others can catch it)

• Do not offer to share or ask for any online CVS coupons.
• Do not post a link to any online CVS coupons.
• Do not post a link to online newspaper pdf's of CVS coupons and do not discuss the use of these coupons. You can discuss the use of the hard copy of the coupon from the actual newspaper.
• Do not post a link to any manufacturer's coupon unless it's already in the database.
• Do not post about using more than one $/$ * ANY in the same transaction whether your total meets the threshold or not. As far as I know it's okay to use a $/$ ANY with a $/$ CVS brand (or other item specific $/$) coupon. Updated as of 10/28/09 CVS confirmed that even with the new wording on $ off $$ coupons (not to be combined with another cvs pharmacy coupon), these can be combined with other NON $/$$ coupons. If you have an issue in the store, you can contact customer service.
• Do not post about using expired coupons at CVS unless you also include that the manager has ok'd it. Not the cashier. The manager.
• Do not post about trial size items working for a deal if the ad specifically excludes them.(this can be decided on a case by case basis because sometimes different forms of advertisements have different wording.)

* $/$$ is a coupon for an amount off of a specific total such a $3.00 off a $15.00 purchase.

Many stores are running Catalina & Register Reward (RR) promotions this week and I would like to remind our members to please read the small print on these Catalina coupons. If the Catalina coupons say something to the effect about "Not valid on P&G products" we ask that all members refrain from posting about rolling these Catalina coupons onto more P&G products.

Rolling means that you purchase items that result in a Catalina coupon and you take that Catalina coupon and use it on your next order of products and receive another of the same kind of Catalina coupon.

Again... we are asking that you refrain from posting about rolling the P&G Catalina coupons if the wording on the Catalina's prohibit the use. Even if your cashier or store manager gives you the OK just keep that to yourself. We want to encourage use of the promotions as outlined by the wording on the coupon.

CVS has LEGALLY requested that online printable coupons no longer be posted anywhere on the internet. CVS has contacted several of the larger websites, not just HCW. It is their position that the only valid printable coupons will be sent to you directly through their email system.

As to the online magazines and newspapers. Their online version is simply a convience service. It's not meant to be printed out and replace their paper magazines and newspapers, otherwise they'd lose their income from their product. Same goes with the coupons in those situations, they are not meant to be printed out and replace the paper ones. My guess is CVS doesn't have the time to police every single newspaper or magazine's online source to make sure that their coupons are blacked out or made unprintable.

In the end, we at HCW are intent on following the parameters stated on the legal notice that we received. And that is that the only valid internet coupons will come directly to you in your email and that any other sources of internet coupons are not legitimate, not approved by CVS and will not be allowed to be posted on HCW.

In light of the email I just received and the new wording on the $/$ coupons there can no longer be any discussion of using more than one $/$ coupon per transaction.

This does not include the CVS brand $/$ since they are for specific itens.

Super stacking is absolutely not allowed.
An example of super stacking would be to use multiple $/$ coupons in this manner....

subtotal=$50
use 10/50
subtotal=$40
use 5/30
subtotal=$35
use 4/20
subtotal=$31

If you had $100 in merchandise the only way you could use all 3 coupons is if none of the coupons excluded using any other $/$ coupon. Also, many stores are prohibiting the use of more than one $/$ coupon per transaction.

Any discussion of these practices will result in a warning/infraction.
