HOT Glade Scented Oil Candles..Is there a limit?

I went to my local CVS today and bought 3 Glade scented oil candles. I had a coupon for buy 2 get 1 free. I paid for this and some other stuff and used my CVS card so I could get the extra care bucks. I knew there was a limit on ECB so I was going to use my husbands card and get three more. I always do this when there is a limit on ECB's. The girl leaves the register gets an ad and comes back and tells me " there is a limit of 5 and we have already had this discussion" Umm excuse me i am not a child and we have never had any discussion regarding limits. I was already fuming mad and this just made me more angry. When I first walked up tp the register there was 2 people ahead of me when I got in line she told the other cashier "you can check her out". Anyways my whole point of this post is have you been told there is alimit of how many you can buy of the Glade scented oil candles?

I think you got one of those "picky" cashiers. I, too, have 2 different cards. It is my understanding & someone posted here in the forum, that CVS allows multiple cards. I sometimes do transactions back to back, using one card and then the other. It really isn't appropriate for a cashier to inform you of the ECB limit, I think. How would they know? You intended to use your hubby's card, but maybe you wanted to puchase more, going over the limit using your own card, ECB or no ECB, since it is of great price to begin with?

Sorry you had to deal with that...

I'll play devil's advocate...
The ad does say, "per household." I believe this is to give managers leverage when they want to limit customers in how much of an item they take from the shelves. While we interpret it to mean "per card" (as technically each member of a household can have a card and each card can purchase the limit), it does read per household. While I've never had limits imposed, that isn't to say that they can't go by the letter of the ad.

My advice... let it go. If you want to do the deal multiple times and they aren't accommodating, try another CVS (if that's an option). Alternatively, if you are brave enough, talk to the manager about what their store policy is. There's nothing lost in asking.

I am in TX

My main problem with today is how the cashier acted as soon as I walked up there. She told the other girl that she could check me out and then just laughed like I could not hear what she was saying. The manager had to come up there when she could not figure out how to to put in my $4 coupon. While he was up there she told him that I had the buy 1 get 1 free coupons for the Vive and that I should have to buy 3 to use that coupon. He told her if it did not beep he did not see why I needed 3 for each coupon. She was not happy when he corrected her. Fine if they want to limit something but do not talk to me like I am stupid and treat me the way she did today. Every time I go in there and want to use a coupon with a sale they are very rude.

I'd avoid this problem by going to another store for the next transaction if that's an option for you. Otherwise try back later or on another day when a different cashier is working.

Still, it was wrong for the cashier to be grippy about it if you were going to use a different card. Besides, isn't that deal a limit of five ECB's meaning you could do the transaction 5 times earning 1ECB each time?
I may be wrong, I'd have to look at the ad again.

I am going to try another store that I saw today from now on. I just started shopping there about a month and they are all so rude. I thought the same thing Beaver..I only bought 3 and I wanted to buy 3 more on my husbands card 1 over the 5 ECB limit. They act like scanning a coupon is going to take money out of their paychecks there.

Best of luck at the new location.

Well I know for a fact that this CVS is HORRIBLE!!! They are so rude and they are all little immature kids working there! Everyone knows that the limits they put on those are per card! NOONE EVER GOES BY HOUSEHOLD LIMIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just did this same deal back to back on 2 different cards and didn't have one problem. That cashier was just being a little you know what! Just like she is every time you go in there! So if I reach my limit and still want to go in and buy more they're going to tell me NO??? RIGHT!!!! Do you ever see limits on stuff that there's no ECB being issued on??? NO!!! So what's the difference?? If you choose to buy more than the limit of what your going to get ECB on that's your perogative! That's what rain checks are for!! I think the limit pertains to the ECB not the item!

I suggest shopping in the morning when the employees arent tired, hungry, or have been dealing with customers all day. I know when i worked in retail..by lunch time or the end of the day...i was just too tired or irritated to give customer service or do extra work at all. Im not saying how these people treated you were right..but if you want to avoid it as much as possible...shop in the morning or right after lunch when noone else is there :)
