Default BOGO q with BOGO sale problems

Hi all,

I've called and emailed CVS's CS in question of using BOGO q's with BOGO sales. Even received the email back stating I could use them to get both items free. The lady on the phone said the same thing. Today it didn't go that way in my usual store. I even showed the cashier the email, but she wouldn't take q. She is shift mgr, so I knew store manager wasn't there. I tried to be nice, but asked her to take the gum off my order. Seriously, this is getting ridiculous that every week, every cashier is different. Thus why I took the email with me but still no luck. I just don't get it! She told me she could use the q if I bought a third pack of gum. Well if I did that I wouldn't get my 4th one free either! I am so irritated but at the same time don't want to ruin my shopping at my favorite stores. I just don't know what to do. Anyone else having this experience. I'm super worried now about next weeks lifesaver BOGO. My mom got her first 10/50 CRT and we were going to use it with the lifesaver deal and the revlon deal to make her OOP like $2.

I'd recommend that you stand right there in the store and call CS (after they've refused your coupon). That should get things cleared up quickly.

that happened to me too on the vive pro at my fav store..he said "im just telling you what IM goin to do" lol who cares what he wants to do its what cvs wants HIM to do.
of course i told him ill go to another cvs and he said fine..smiling like i can't believe this lady is trying to get away w/ it.
but it was sunday and coudn't call ..im just goin to the nearest one and see if they have any if not raincheck

Believe me I wanted to stand right there and call since I just received the email Friday and had the phone conversation Friday. The only problem is I didn't want to get them hating me because I get them in trouble. I guess I'm just too nice. But these employees think coupons are coming out of their checks! I know if it would have been the store manager he would have taken coupons w/o blinking an eye.

It only takes one time of doing this to get the current problem solved, and usually means less trouble in the future.

Call CS standing right in front of them.

If it holds up the line, just tell the people behind you, sorry, but this is over <amount being saved> and the manager is refusing a promotion CVS Corp says is valid. If you have extra Q's, give them to everyone in line! That is one thing I make sure I do since I always have extra's and take some extra with me. Cashier/Manager gives me a huge problem, once it is sorted out, EVERYONE behind me gets the deal too. Cashier/manager might not like it, but they already know they have to do it for all. :)

I remember a time I had 5 of something free AC, manager decided to limit it to 2 and get an attitude about how he would run out if he let me when he had plenty (about 35 left on the shelf) and there was no limit in the ad. I went and got every last one of them on the shelf and put them in a buggy. I stood there and handed 2 Q's and 2 items to each person that came into a line until his store was out. He was pissed, I told him I was not clearing the shelves when I could had plus his store still got the money for all of them, and now I needed 5 rain checks and would call corp if he refused to issue them since he had none the first day of the sale. It was a store I do not use very often, so decided to push back extremely hard. He hates me now, but he keeps his mouth shut when he sees me or a cashier calls about a Q he tells them to just do it without even looking.

Normally I have zero problems when I shop CVS, including BOGO/BOGO. Sunday morning I went to one of my usual, coupon-friendly stores, but at a different time than normal. The cashier was so phenomenally rude to me about "couponing him to death". He put all the coupons through but berated me the whole time about how I probably sell them in my own store (untrue), how nobody could possibly need all that gum (um, 6 packs lasts me 12 days, I'm an ex-smoker!), how me and this other guy always come in off hours (my first time actually), how I'm cheating the system (um, no) and how now the Loss Prevention people are going to be on his case about taking the coupons...but he rung me up. The guy behind me in line was shocked that I stood there and calmly took the attitude.

I decided not to call CS on him. Instead, I'm going to be a bit more evil than that. If he doesn't like coupons he's working at the wrong store, at the wrong job. I'll be waking up early and driving the extra 3 miles to go to his store *every* Sunday morning, and make sure to get in his line *every* time I have a ton of coupons. And I'm going to be cheery about it every time. That kid is going to work for his $8 an hour, or he's going to be so miserable he quits. Mwaaa ha ha!

Here's what you do. Next time you call CS ask for the name and number of your District Manager's BOSS because usually when you call CS the CS rep sends an email to both the DM and their boss. Sometimes the DM isn't on his or her's job so it may be necessary to talk to a higher up so that all the stores in your area will get their ducks in a row. You should be able to go to anystore without the same problems, I to got tired because I honestly don't see the big deal, all they would need to do is send the coupon in for reimbursement of ONE product.

I had the same problem with Trident and Loreal Vive. I was so irritated b/c the assistant manager told me no, then I went to a shift leader (who we see all the time, but all he said was... she's my boss what she says goes.) that royally peed me off so I went to the store manager who was outside (lucky him LOL) He told her to allow the transactions. He asked me to sign the receipts. But it just aggrivates me that they do this. I need to get cvs's phone number on my speed dial. :)
