General question re: ECBs

I'm still learning the ropes around here.

Do I have all all month to buy the necessary quantities of a product to earn ECBs?

Do sales on the ECB items last all month so that you can get the best price AND earn the ECBs.

What I'm looking at is Sure deodorant/antiperspirant. I have B1G1 coupons for it, but I think that I missed the sale on it. Perhaps its on sale all month and I'm just not aware of it.

There are only certain items that will earn ECBs all month. Others will only earn you ECBs for the week. Your CVS has red books that will give you the deals for the month.

I'm pretty sure that the Sure is a monthly deal. If you don't have any ECBs yet, buy 2 Sures with your coupon (costing you $3), then next time buy two more w/ your BOGO and use the $3 ECB you have so you get them both for free.

There are monthly deals and there are weekly deals.

You can obviously do the monthly deals(they have not been great lately though) all month long----- but the weekly deals are only Sunday-Saturday.

There are two types of ECB deals: weekly and monthly.

Monthly deals are listed in their own monthly booklet. If you don't have one, you can pick on up on your next visit to CVS (just ask a cashier where they are) or you can look on HCW for the current booklet scans (http://www.hotcouponworld.com/forums...tml#post945359). These deals are good from the first day to the last day of the month. If you see them in a weekly deal, they are just a rehash of the monthly - no new limits.

Weekly deals are just that - weekly deals. These are the standard circulars that you are probably used to that you get with the newspaper or in store. All items listed in this ad are weekly, UNLESS they are also in the monthly book. If they are in the monthly book, then it is just an advertisement/reminder of the monthly deal (no new limits - if the monthly limit is 5 and the limit in the weekly ad is 5, the limit is NOT the two added together).

As for Sure deodorant - this is a MONTHLY deal (pg 4 of the monthly booklet: http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/f...ly2008/006.jpg). You have until the end of the month to do this deal up to 3 times per household.

There are monthly deals and weekly deals. The weekly ones are in the ad you get in the Sunday paper. Those are only good that week. The monthly ones (yes they last all month but be careful waiting if it's something you really want or need - some stores run out and never restock that month) are in a smaller booklet usually found by the door on the way in the store. They probably put the weekly ad there too but if you look at them it's obvious which is which.

I can't seem to find my copy of the monthly book but the July thread says
buy 2 sure anti perspirant solid 2.6-2.7 get 3ECB limit 3

so it's a monthly. Someone will come along to confirm that or check with the monthly book when you go to the store.

Check to see if you have $1/1 Sure coupons too. You can use a $1/1 and a B1G1 coupon for each set of 2 that you buy. Use the $1/1 first to avoid potential problems.
