QUESTION Would you drive 45 miles (one way) for CVS deals?

I love a bargain and do pretty good at Walgreens, but I am SO jealous of the deals you all get at CVS. The closest CVS to me is 45 minutes away. I have no other reason to go to the town the CVS is located in, so it's not like I could/would be combining errand runs. I would be visiting this town specfically for a CVS trip. So....in your professional opinions, are the deals worth a 45 mile (on way) trip? Thanks for any input or suggestions!

I would say depends on how good the CVS store is. Is it well stocked? Is it cpn friendly? Are you saving enough money to cover the gas costs... and time too spent? Esp with gas prices going up and up. But I'm not one of the really good CVS queens... so I'm not really sure. I have a lot of stores near me, but they all aren't that good. So if this store is anything like what I have, i would say no - definitely not worth the 1.5 hrs of driving back and forth. But I see some great deals that people get so if you can get those deals regularly, it might be worth the drive.

I vote no. It's too far and if you go and they are out of stock on stuff you need for your scenario(s), you've just lost time and gas. I hope they open a CVS in your town!

Personally I would not - but it's because the deals at CVS involve ECB's that expire in 4 weeks. I would worry that I couldn't get out there often enough and/or find products often enough to be able to "roll" the ecb's enough to make it worth it.

Also, gas is a big consideration. In my car I get about 32 mpg - last time I filled up, it was around .12 a mile for me. At 45 miles, that would be $5.40 one way, so $10.80 per trip. And that is in a car with good mpg -- if you get a lot less, of course it's going to be more expensive. So I would want to be able to save at least $10 per trip, which may or may not happen depending on store stock and such.

Being someone who doesn't have a CVS in this state (or surrounding ones AFAIK) I'd vote yes. If I could go to CVS, but travel 45 minutes, I'd probably do it, for really good deals. Not the run of the mill, just a free benefiber deal, but something good, YES!!!

With the price of gas I would have to say noooo way, but I guess it all depends on how much you are going to save and how much you are going to spend in gas. But I think it's a tough call for me.... I would say no, but it maybe a good deal for some people.

I would do it for the October and November deals we got last year including the ones during Thankgviing day weekend. But as a whole no I would not. Those deals would have to be worth $12 (figuring 30mpg x 3 gallons at $4 per gallon). Doing the math, it would have to be great deals but then again, every now and then I need a road trip just to make things manageable. Lucky for me I have 16 CVSs to choose from within 30 minutes drive.

I vote no. Yea the deals are good, but not that good. Consider 1-1/2 hour driving time and gas, and the deals won't look so good. You can spend more closer to home and come out better in the long run. I would only travel that distance for super doubles or triples when I can really get a haul.
