Ya know, I just noticed one of the stores I shop actually has a second blue/gray scanner on the back wall. I don't understand why they have 2 of those and not one of the red ecb coupon printers.

Some of those blue/gray scanners will print out coupons! If you look on the right side of them, there is a slit where the coupons come out. When you look at the screen and it says something about scanning the item to find the price, then it probably won't print coupons (it says "item not found" when I scan my EC card on those). But, if it has a picture of the EC card on the screen then you should be able to scan your card and get coupons. HTH!
