CVS coupons in the mail (Snail mail)

In the mail today I got a CVS coupon. It says

FALL SALE HURRY IN! Two days only September 12th or 13th for our top customers only. 20% off your entire purchase. *excludes sale items. It can be used in stores or online.

I am bumed it cannot be used on sale items though.

I got 2 RX coupons for $25 exp 10/31(I think, cant remember) and a $4/20 exp 9/26.

Newbie here. I recieved a 20% off Fall savings discount coupon in the mail today. In the fine print it says it excludes sale items. Does this mean the items in the circular?
