Default CVS Q's Ringing up at Weird Amounts?

Has anyone else noticed that CVS specific Q's are ringing up at weird amounts...

An example is recently I bought a pack of CVS Wipes. I used a PlaySkool Wipes Q for $1.00 off...the Q showed up on my receipt as only deducting $.01...I asked the manager what the deal was, and he had no idea.

I didn't think anything of it until I read another post tonight...

She was referring to the $2.00 CVS Skin Care Q that rang up for $1.94

Is there some new formula in the works?

Q) Is the CVS coupon in question sent to you via snail mail?

If so, my policy (learning from experience) is to always redeem a CVS snail mailed coupon last, at the checkout.

Otherwise, mysterious things take place (like a $9.00 ECB [ surrendered at the end] redeeming for only $3.00).

Default Re: CVS Q's Ringing up at Weird Amounts?

The particular Q that I used was printed from the VeryBestBaby website - specifically for the item I was buying...this was probably my 6th or 7th time redeeming and previously had no problems with it.

I'll be using them again on the upcoming diaper & wipes deal, and for some reason I don't think it's the specific Q...I think it has something to do with the total amount or something mathematical that I can't figure out...

I was just wondering if anyone knew the secret formula or something new that might cause the Q's to "adjust."

When coupons ring at 1 cent it usually means that it's a CVS.com-only coupon or a CVS coupon where no product was purchased that matched the item. If you bought CVS Brand wipes, but used a Playskool wipes coupon, it would make sense that it could scan at 1 cent. Maybe there was system update recently to distinguish the products.

EDIT: I see what happened with the $1.94 adjustment for that person's coupon. The register system adjusted a CVS coupon to make up for the overage on the razor coupons (razors were 6 cents less in actual cost than the coupons given).

Ahhh...I must have totally had a brain fart that night - you're absolutely right, I bought the CVS wipes - not the PlaySkool wipes - I automatically associate PlaySkool with CVS (and at the time didn't realize CVS has it's own)...looking at the package now I see it doesn't say "PlaySkool."

I'll have to mention that next time I'm there...boy...now I feel a little humbled - I'm 99% on top of that stuff...

Thanks for the info...I will keep it in mind if it happens again.

Easy to do! I think I just figured out why the other person had the coupon adjustment - went searching for the post and updated my post above.

Nice! I would admit that I'm losing it, but I think I'll stick to being exhausted AND trying to CVS = disaster!!

I'm really happy you pointed out the other situation because I never knew the registers would do that, it's pretty cool. Your baby is adorable!
