Default Re: EEK! limit on ECB's per transaction

Can you just imagine how long most of us could/would tie up a check out line doing multiple mini transactions. Between the angry customers that would just walk out, the complaints to store mgrs and CVS corp I think this, if it comes to pass, would be a VERY short lived policy.

Personally, I never do multi transactions at one CVS since I have 3 within 2 miles of my home and one I pass every work day BUT if this went into effect I would be SURE to do all my transactions at 1 store 1 time/week. Think I will pick the store w/ the LEAST q friendly mgr/staff and the worst level of staffing (no one available to open another register except mgr). I am sure he would just love that/me.

I AM SO TOTALLY JEALOUS!!!

I live in Walgreens country, with five stores within a five mile radius in either direction of me and rumors that a CVS will open near here in the next year!

Right now, I have to drive further than I would like to get to CVS, but I do it for the deals. To limit ECBs would definitely cut the deals, making it not so much worth the drive!! Walgreens limits their Register Rewards to one per transaction, and it is not nearly as fun as CVS!!

They have never had a one ECB per transaction policy. It used to be that you could use one CVS coupon per item and ECB's were included as CVS coupons. It also would not make sense for them to do that since ECB's are sponsored by the manufacturer's and they want them redeemed. They have even had contests for stores where the winner is the store that redeems the most ECB's. At least that's what I heard.

This is another rumor that I will believe when I see it actually happen. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

WHAT is their rational for this?

CVS, like any other store, is out for profit.

This rumored change does not increase their bottom line in any way. We'll still buy the same stuff, still use ECB's ~~ Just multiple mini-transactions (thx pp!!).

Welcome ot The Rumor Of The Month Club!!

Default Re: EEK! limit on ECB's per transaction **RUMOR**

I work in a cvs in Indiana and we have had all kinds of meetings on the importance of customer service and making the customer happy so I believe that if that policy would go into effect it would quickly change if customers complained just alittle. Basically we were told to avoid conflict at all costs and make customers happy. With walmarts image being at an all time low because of customer complaints, cvs is hoping to pick up the slack. So I do not think that policy change will ever get very far.
