This is not my recipe, it is from the kraft food and family magazine. If you omit the fresh shredded carrots (although some CVS's do carry some bagged produce) then everything should be available on the CVS shelves. It is also very tasty. We have made them and the kids love them. You can use any kind of fish, (i.e. salmon) too.

2 cans (6 oz each) light tuna in water drained and flaked
1 pkg (6 oz) Stove top stuffing mix for chicken
1 cup shredded mild cheddar cheese
1/2 cup of shredded carrots
1/3 cup mayo
2 tbsp sweet pickle relish
3/4 cup of water

mix all ingredients. cover and refrigerate for 10 minutes
heat large onstick skillet with cooking spray on medium heat. for each tuna cake shape 1/3 cup lighly packed tuna mixture into patty. add patties to skillet in batches
cook 3 minutes on each side or until golden brown on both sides, turning over carefully.

makes 9-12 depending on size

Ok, here's my attempt at "living a day out of a CVS Store". Imagine, it's just you and couple of employees locked in the store. There was a huge storm, you have access to the employee lounge, bathrooms, and have utilities but there is a huge tree blocking at each one of the exits. The cashiers are there, so, you have to pay for anything you use. You do have your coupon stash and past ECB's to go off of. They will do a running tally until the end of the day when you pay for it all.

First, you wake up and realize you have horrid morning breath! OH NO! So, you grab this week’s ad and the June book. YOU ARE IN LUCK!!

There are Toothbrushes (FREE after ECB), Mouthwash (FAECB-and you have a $1/1) in the June book. Crest is on sale for $1.77 AND you have a $.75/1 coupon. You know you are in for a long day, so grabbing some deodorant would be a good idea. You don’t care if it’s for man or woman so you grab the brut that is $3ECB WYB1 and you have a coupon $1/1.
You take care of your personal hygiene items and realize you are hungry. Breakfast time!

For a drink, you grab a Nesquick ($.50/1). You’re really in luck, your store sells eggs! So, you grab some eggs ($1.50wt), and a can of tomatoes. You make scrambled eggs in the mircrowave, at the tomatoes for a little nutrition and flavor.

After breakfast you get bored, like really bored. So you grab a cart and hop in! (No easy feat because they are so small!) You found the store brush broom, now you have a boat! So, you’re cruising around the store just fine, then BAM! You run into a center display. You’re OK, for the most part, but your hand is bleeding. So, you go and grab a box of the CVS band-aids (FAECB).

You’re feeling shaky from blood loss, so go grab a Breeze 2 Monitor (FAC).

You’re fine but want a snack, so you go grab some chex mix ($1/1).

The employees are getting bored as well so to pass the time they ask you to help stock shelves for a while. You agree and stock some shelves, you know where it all goes anyway.

LUNCH TIME!!!
WOW – are you in luck, the employees really like you and they figure the store is big enough, grab enough fans, and you can fire up a gril. The employees also buy your charcoal as a thank you for stocking the shelves with them earlier. This store sells prepackaged sandwiches but those are pretty bad.

They happen to have a couple of pots in the household isle, so you grab a pot, again, you get to use it free but it will have to remain at the store when you leave.

So, you decide to make a fancy Mac N Cheese; here’s what you will need:
1 Kraft Mac N Cheese (1.5)
Milk – couple splashes (2.99)
Salt (found in lounge)
Pepper (found in lounge)
Butter (found a couple square in the employee fridge)
Bread crumbs (past their date, but still good so they are free)
Ham from one of the pre-made sandwiches (2.50)

Boil some water, prepare the mac n cheese as instructed, grill the ham, slice, add to the mac n cheese, salt & pepper to taste. Using a pie pan (because you’re on a grill and can’t bake, at home you would bake 350deg 10 min or so) and lightly brown the crumbs, sprinkle on top of the mac n cheese/ham. Eat and YUMMY!

You need to wash the pots because you can’t take them home, the store needs to resell them. Dawn dish soap will do the job! They are on sale $1 each, but you gotta buy 2 to get $1ECB. Luckily there are some coupons out there so it’s not too bad.

SNACK TIME again – go grab some more chex, that chocolate kind is addicting!

While sitting the patio furniture, chatting with your new BFF’s you look at the front entrance. The door is glass, you’re not stuck in the store, grab your chair, toss it at the glass and crawl out over the tree. While the day was, hope it never happens again!

You day cost you:
Toothbrushes 6.99 6.99
Smart Rinse 3.49 -1 2.49
Crest 1.77 -0.75 1.02

Thumbs Up Re: Newsletter Contest

Here is one of my kids favorite recipes!

Dirt & Worms in a Cup

2 cups cold milk
1 package Royal brand chocolate pudding
20 oreo cookies (crushed)
15 Gummi Worms

10 plastic cups (6 oz.)

Mix pudding according to package directions. Layer crushed oreos and pudding in plastic cup. End with oreos and add worms around the top.

If you are looking for a great table top display, visit the seasonal isle and pick up a flower pot that you can use for your dirt and worms dessert, no cups necessary.

CHEF Re: Newsletter Contest

I actually have made this for my 2yr old. got an email the night before from Kraft Food and Family and thought this reciepe would be nice to try one day. got up the next morning to find I was out of milk so I drove up the road to my CVS and used my ecb's and a 5/15$ and purchesed all these items and the milk and Post ceral was on sale, I used reg. white bread. My little one had a blast helping me and eating his Pebbles French Toast Fingers, I did too.
Prep Time: 5 min Total Time: 25 min
Makes: 5 servings, eight toast strips each
3 eggs, 1/4 cup milk, 1 tsp. vanilla, Dash ground cinnamon
10 slices whole grain bread, such as whole wheat, honey oat, 7 grain or raisin
2-1/2 cups POST Fruity PEBBLES Cereal
PREHEAT oven to 350°F. Beat eggs with milk, vanilla and cinnamon in shallow bowl until well blended.
DIP bread slices into egg mixture, then dip into cereal, turning to evenly coat both sides of bread. Gently press cereal into bread to secure. Place on lightly greased baking sheet.
BAKE 20 min. or until golden brown. Cut each slice into four strips to serve.

This is my famous free cvs ham dinner!
one serves 5or 6
use 2 and double the recipe for more.
This is fast, cheap and fancy enough for sunday dinner or guests
what to get 1 or2 canned hams reg.price 4.39 but goes bogo a lot
if only making one use half honey and fruit to save for next one
1 honey bear 2.99
1 can peaches 1.69
1 bottle aunt jemima syrup 2.89
[use the maple if your store has it
1 can chopped or diced pineapple 1.79
1 tin roasting pan 99.
preheat oven at 375
open all cans [the ham can be a pain to open]
rinse out ham thoroughly under running water to remove jelly
plop ham in center of pan
slice 1/2 inch deep diagonally both ways
Pour 1/3 of the honey bear on top trying to get as much as possible in the cuts
pour half the syrup on top
pour the contents of half of each of the cans on top,try to ouch most of the fruit off the top of the ham so it browns better.
add some more honey on top of ham so it falls into maple/fruit gravy.
put in oven, works fine in toaster oven also
give it about 30 minutes
DONE
lazy mans side
stouffers mac and cheese 2.49[add kraft grated parmesen to top]2.29
bread 2.29,butter,3.99 jello 69. and whipped cream2.99 are also cvs staples
now the reason all this FREE: is with the right sales and Q and $$off Qs and using the smaller items as fillers, If you stockpile these items like I do,
And buy them as noted above[DO NOT WASTE ECBS on crazy retail prices]
this dinner costs pennies or in my case free.
the kids and everyone else loves it,
buy when serving company it is not necessary to mention its origins.

Use one of the cvs canned hams 12oz.
