It's true that when I started I got everything!! Now I am a little bit more selective. I will only take a glucose monitor if it is a moneymaker with coupon. I consider them a means to an end since they are so hard to get rid of. If one of them is a moneymaker, of course, I can use that to get what I need.
I can understand how people's different situations would lead them to make different choices.
I enjoy the planning, love the "hunt," get excited when I have bags of things to donate to the women's shelter. The best part is when I need something like soap and rather than writing it on the grocery list and going to Walmart, I can walk out to the stockpile, choose what I need and be done with it. Knowing that I got it for free or just a few cents.
How is that ever going to get old?
taw
I really had to change my way of thinking. It's tough to get things that I don't want so that I can get things I do.

| | Re: Good time to get off of the Merry Go Round? I was burned out on CVS for several months. May got me going again, though. I bought all the free after ECB items and somehow over a few weeks built back about $30 in ECBs. I'm happy with a small amount like this and getting just enough freebies for my family stockpile. I keep thinking about getting a second card, but I'm not sure I want to hassle with that. I live in a small town with two CVS's I can shop (one in a nearby small town). I work hard to stay on good terms with all the cashiers and to fly under the radar.
I'm not as excited about June, but I'll keep going at my turtle pace. Here in the LOND, CVS and Walgreen's are almost always my best bet for free stuff.
I haven't had $/$$ for months either, but one of my stores has a new scanner/coupon printer and I got a $3/$10 CVS brand coupon last week. |

| | Re: Good time to get off of the Merry Go Round? I have had two cards for well over a year now. Without the $/$ I think I am going to downsize to 1 card. It is getting too difficult to keep track of everything especially when they are out of stock. I feel like I am wasting gas driving around trying to find the free stuff for both cards so I am spinning my wheels as far as saving money goes. If I only have 1 card I can just stop by the ones I drive by daily and not waste gas doing it. |

| | Re: Good time to get off of the Merry Go Round? I wonder if they might have us on a rotation for receiving $/$$ q's.....this group gets them this week/month...another group next week/month....(hope that makes sense).
I don't get the general ones anymore either.....I do get the 3/10 cvs brand q's from the scanner....so it will be a treat if I ever do get one. I think I do well enough even w/o them, so I'm still enjoying it. I agree with the others who liken it to a treasure/scavenger hunt. It's fun! I do get burned out occasionally, and just take a little break, but overall...I'm still lovin' CVS! :) |

| | Re: Good time to get off of the Merry Go Round? I'm okay with not getting the emails with $/$$, but I sure miss the CRTs and I don't think its fair to be cut off from them. I don't have an outrageous savings to spending ratio and I fill close to 10 prescriptions a month at CVS.
My son came home to visit from college and I found a crumpled up CVS receipt of his in the recycle container for $5 off Zaditor (allergy eye drops), looked through my mfgs., found a $5 coupon and then read it gives $3 in ECBs next week, so that's 99 cents for Zaditor, but can I do that deal? Nope, no CRTs for me. |

| | Re: Good time to get off of the Merry Go Round? I have been getting more bummed too. No email q's, no CRTs for MONTHS! I am still finding stuff, but am much more selective about the deals and my trips have slowed down. But they are so much more coupon friendly than the Wags in my area, so I will keep going. |

| | Re: Good time to get off of the Merry Go Round? I can see what you are saying. I found this and next month to be very boring. I jumped on board just this February and I am already wanting to slow down and take a break. There is only so much razors, lotion, make-up, tooth paste, deodorant and bath wash a girl needs even with three female children.
Also, the ECBs are getting much smaller for the products they have them for. Like a $1 ecb on an $8 product is not such a deal.

CVS.com won't let me register the card. I'm not calling them to do this.
Looks like I'll be sticking to Wags and my grocery stores. After the Sierra Mist and cheap mustard next weekend at CVS, I think I'm out, too. |

I on the other hands have more time for my family after been busy for a year about this cvs and coupons life game. I consider myself new to the game since I still have a hard time balancing life and coupons .At one point I was feeling ohh....my life was couponing.
I am kind of relieving that I do less cvsing but I won't stop shopping cvs though as long as I can save and do easy deals.
This no $/$$ really force me to spending ebc .
So I think it might be time for new game's rules or something and new strategies.I don't think of the sweet past deals but look forwards for new ones.
All the best of hunting savings and shopping to you all. | This is so dead on! I cut way back since the end of the $/$ coupons. I was a little freaked out at first, because I wasn't getting each and every deal, but the lower stress level was worth it. I was so burned out, I think I needed the "forced" break.
On the flip side, I now find myself having to go roll them because they're about to expire. Where as, when I was going a few times a week, I wasn't ever near the expiration date.
Back to the original question, I have recently started using my mom's card, and her card, which hasn't ever been used in the past, prints 10/50's like there's no tomorrow. ;) | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
