QUESTION What would you do? Coupon policy at a local store

Mods, please move this if I posted in the wrong place!! Thanks!

A few months ago, our local Cub foods changed it's coupon policy. The old policy allowed "unlimited" double coupons up to 50 cents. I didn't know that they had changed it until I was checking out. The cashier pointed to a posted coupon policy that was typed out, and taped to each checkout line. It clearly said that "only 2 identical coupons" would be doubled.

No problem. If that's their policy, then I'm happy to follow it. They posted it for me to see, told me about without yelling at me, and explained that it was because of "that show".

OK...last week I went in to get a few things that were on sale. It's a little out of the way, so I only shop there when I'm going to be going to that part of town. When I was checking out, the cashier saw my file box, and said, "Are you an extreme couponer?" (I was only using about 10 coupons) Before I could answer her, she said, "There are a couple of guys who come in and buy carts full of stuff and get it for almost nothing!" So, I asked her how they could do it, with the new policy. She looked at me like I was nuts and said she didn't know anything about it. I said, "It's right there!" and pointed to it. She said, "Hey...nobody told me...and the register still doubles them all! I'm not going in and changing 100 coupons every time they shop here!" Then, she told me that they always go through her line! Gee...I wonder why! The other cashiers follow the rules, maybe?

I keep thinking that I should call the manager. If they changed their policy then ALL of the shoppers should follow it! A friend of mine told me that I should just go in and go hog wild and use as many coupons as I want. But I won't do it. I follow the rules!! I just think everyone should have to.

    So...would you call?

I think I would call. If I have to follow the rules then everyone should.
Kinda feels like tattalling but I think that cashier needs to be trained correctly. But if you call you should make it known that the cashier as unaware of policy (how I don't know since it is posted) and point out that if they are gonna to start a new policy then they need to train ALL employees on new policy rules.

I admire you Carol for not doing what the other couponers are doing. I wouldn't do it either. I do think you need to call but don't give the cashier's name as you don't want to get her in trouble. Now in about 2 weeks if she is still doing it and you find out then I would report her because she is now informed of the policy. She should know it anyway but you wouldn't believe what the cashiers don't know and the managers are even worse. I can't believe they didn't catch it on the receipts yet though. That is odd to me. Big orders wave a big flag that says "look at me" especially if they are getting multiples and baskets full for free or close to it.
