Self checkout

Hi

Anyone out there ever use expired Qs in the self checkout lane? Just curious if they require cashier intervention--as they sometimes seem to at the regular checkout lanes. Thanks!

I have lots of expireds to use up and I feel like some of the cashiers get really annoyed with me for using them. I'd rather just do it myself!

I thought I was the only one who annoyed them! I sure feel like it sometimes when I'm the only one in line using coupons!

The store I go to has to have cashier intervention on ANY coupon - including CUB ones. So it's not worth it to me to wait for 5 minutes to have a cashier come and approve the coupons. The same is true for Rainbow self checkout that I go to.

This is a recent development though - in the last month or so.

Except. The coupons slot has a little sensor, and some of the q's get hung up. It actually helps if you blow in it to get the q to activate the sensor...

Probably not the best thing for it mechanically, but that's what the cashier told me last winter, and I've had no problems since.

I usually look around me before I blow the troublesome coupons in ... it's embarrassing blowing at the self-checkout!

I blow in them all the time and it doesn't embarrase me
