Is your credit frozen or does your credit reports contain the fraud alert notice?

I would not feel so secure with the second. I've had applications approved in my name without the creditor contacting us (I did initiate the credit but the company is supposed to call before making a decision).

We now have frozen credit as a result of someone who attempted to change our address with one of my creditors.
