I want/need one of the boxes. I love them. I wish i could find something i could just go and buy w/o ordering online. I like to see it and touch it :)

Yes, this is the one I have in black. I hadn't switched over to it becasue I wasn't sure it would fit in the cart, but I decided it's time to give it a whirl.

    Awesome - I am sold.

I just left them a voicemail to see if I can get the Knick Knack box in black. I will probably do as some others and add my own folder/pockets to the top lid and make my own internal dividers. I just drew the dimensions on some of my DDs construction paper so get an idea of the side. I HOPE it is big enough! I want the biggest one but I am so cheap - I'd hate to drop $40+ on it and not need that much room.

Only thing that sucks is that with DD sitting IN the cart, I've always had to put my holder into the basket. So I will still have to bend over and find things but eh...no change there I guess.

Thanks so much for all the info! I so love this site (and recently this thread!)!

Does anyone know if the pro deluxe coupon box fits in the shopping cart seat part? I think i'm buying it today, but i don't want to have to fumble with it. I do enough fumbling as it is. But i'd like a box i can keep all my q's in and just take with me when i go.

But I think I'm outgrowing it and will be moving to a 4 to 5 inch binder pretty soon.

I have heard that Office Depot has some great binders for couponing, so I think I'll check there first. I know of someone who has a 5-inch binder that sounds great!
where can I get on of those pictured above ? Thanks

Default How many different methods of organizing did you try

before finding just the right one for you?

I am on my second method and now this one appears to not be working well.

Method one was the baseball cards in a binder......I hated it. Those little sleeves are just too darn small and I had to clip and clip and clip some more to get them to fit.....and then dig all of them out to find something......just a pain!

So, I got a 4x6 file box and A-Z hard plastic cards......that is not going to work for large amounts of coupons I have discovered.

    ARGH!,

    Dawn -

I tried the 4x6 size box. Not big enough for me. Do you know anyone with babies? Try a baby wipe box (I think the Huggies brand is the easiest to use -- the whole top flips open vs Pampers that only has the center flip open. I think I have that right... it has been awhile since I've had to buy wipes.)

I used a wipe box for awhile -- it was a good size when I was getting 3-4 extra inserts a week. When I started getting 30+ inserts a week, it became too small.

I tried the binder method (for 2 wks) - I didn't like it for the same exact reason you did not like it.

At that point, I moved to the Deluxe Coupon File that RefundMakesCents sells.

Subscriptions -- scroll down the page to Deluxe Coupon File.

I still use that coupon file -- actually I use 2. I have one for "food coupons" and one for "non-food coupons". I usually cut 10-15 of my inserts each week and put the other 15 aside (uncut) for trading.

    Hope that helps!

I started with a CD case - the large one that holds 100+ CD's and has 4 slots per page. The size was good, zippered closed, had a handle for carrying. However, the pages were floppy and the slots didn't hold the coupons tightly.
I recently changed to a multi-slotted check file. While the slots are sufficient (I use subdividers in between the files), I had to separate food and non-food and now have to carry 2 coupon files. This is a pain.
Walmart had a small file box that I may try next. It was wide enough and deep enough to fit all of the coupons, was hard cased, and had a handle. I could organize with tabs like I am now. I'll have to give it a try...and re-organize yet again :)

LOL Ive tried em all! I was just laughing about this the other day.

I started with just an envelope, then went to a recipe box, then to a binder,
then to the big $50 box they sell on the auction site, then to little plastic containers,
then to filing by insert and leaving at home except what I was going to use which went in a pouch in my purse. Then I stopped getting inserts and got rid of my non inserts and just had a small change purse/ make up bag thing of a few qs I knew Id use over the next couple months. Then I got the Kroger offer for 20% off and wanted to start getting some extra inserts again so I went back to filing by inserts and clipping right before my trip. Then I receycled most of the leftovers from those and was going on another break and ran into a friend who gave me a bunch of inserts for that week so I cut all those and put them in zippy bags with the date on it. Figured easier to trade, have on me if I wanted to get something for me or for donating that I found on sale ect.
Then found out DH had no job and so Im back to the grind.
I *think* Im gonna stick to this method. Cut em put em in a zippy with 1/1/10 SS or 1/1/10 RP on the outside and that way I can have them on me but still can look by date when using the database.
Ive tried it all and I just want the easiest less mess way and have yet to find one Im happy with.

I started off with the box method, which worked ok for a while...but after it being dumped over a few times and having to reorganize I switched to the binder method. I've been using it for over 5 years now. I did not start with baseball card sleeves, but
3x5 photo page refills with 5 slots per page (2 horizontal/3 vertical). I find the photo pages accomodate different sized coupons better than the bball card sleeve. Its hard to find 3x5 refills now, the last batch I bought were 4x6 with 3 slots (1 horizontal/2 vertical)
I'm sure you'll find something that will work for you! It really is trial & error.
