Default Re: Coupon Organization Question:

I am totally new here and I am really trying to get into the couponing. What should I get in order to best organize coupons? I have heard other people say that they are using binders with baseball card inserts. Is that the consensus on here as well? I would like to know of any other ideas that are out there as well. Thank you in advance!

Default Where to get clear photo/trading card pages

I'm trying to figure out the best place to get clear trading card pages or photo pages to make a coupon binder. Right now I have everything in regular full-size sheet protectors, so they're slipping and sliding all over each other. Walmart had nothing that I could find in the office supply and scrapbooking aisles. Office Max had packs of 10 sheets, but they were expensive! I'd be very interested to hear where other people have gotten their clear sheets for organizing a coupon binder. Thanks!!!

Default Re: Coupon Organization Question:

I'm a one store shopper, so I organized mine into categories by the grocery aisle. I put them into categories then when I was at the store made a list of the titles of each aisle, then organized the pages accordingly. As to how much detail, I think you should go with what makes sense to you. For example, I had a TON of soup coupons. I did them into "broth" (any brand), Campbell’s (anything other than broth) and "Other soup" (any other brand, not broth). In my cereal bunch, I've got Chex, Cheerios, Kellogg’s, Quaker, Other Cereal, Other Cereal Aisle (so things like Pop Tarts that are in the cereal aisle but aren't actually cereal). I make a list of things I need and can divide that onto a post it by aisle and stick it where it needs to go, but then I can walk down each aisle and have a look for things that might be on a great sale, see if I have a coupon and we're in business. As I find coupons that I want to use, I pull them out and slide them into another pocket so they're ready for the cashier.

As to what I've got them in, I found a $9.99 zippered nylon binder at Target. It has a front accordion fold part so I can put coupons or flyers for other stores in those, has lots of great pockets, etc. in the front for my scissors, calculator, pen, the coupons I want to use... then I was just lucky enough to grab 4x9" photo pages that were sitting next to the binders. I just went back and got another set (20 per pack). They're perfect for me because you can slide any coupon into the slot on the right of the opening (about 4x8") and I use a small piece of cardstock with the category name in the small slot to the left of the opening (the part that's about 4x1"). You can add more pages if you want, make more categories, very flexible and until you've got thousands of coupons going, it should be plenty big enough.

I get mine at hobby lobby in the coin, stamp collecting isle...don't forget your 40%off coupon...walmart also has photo pages that are a bit bigger for some of the larger Q's in their photo album section.

Thanks. I don't have a Hobby Lobby anywhere near me, but I sure will be checking Walmart's photo album section next time!

what about a card trading shop? Is there one in town? Every city I have lived in has a sports trading card memorabilia place. Good luck!

At Walmart they are either in the photo aisle or up front with the trading cards.

I picked up some at WalMart. They were not that expensive, 35 pages, holds a little over 300 "trading cards". Maybe about $6. They were not by the photo albums, but by the baseball/trading cards.
