If you're travelling from state to state and thinking about stockpiling, it helps to know what the tax rates are so you can plan accordingly.
This information is a work in progress. If you see anything that needs to be added, please post to the thread and I'll update the info.

While Alaska doesn't have a state sales tax, many towns have a local sales tax. Mine is 2.5%. Anchorage doesn't have one. I forget what Palmer's is. I don't get out much, so don't know the individual cities taxes. lol
Massachusetts does have a 5% sales (or meal) tax on prepared foods, ie fast food and sit down resaurants. There is no sales tax on clothing or newspapers either.
For big ticket items many people in Mass will cross into New Hampshire where there is no sales tax on anything. But, if you buy something that has to be delivered from NH into MA THEN it will be taxed accordingly.
In Tennessee, the tax rate on food went down by a 1/2 of a % the first of the year. Here in Hamilton County, it is 7.75%. Some counties are higher. It's supposed to go down every year by 1/2 of a % but I don't know how low it is ultimately supposed to go.
Here's the way the tax is calculated on doubles/triples. The bonus you are getting by double/triple is not taxed. So, a $3 item with a .60 coupon doubled, the tax is figured on $2.40. Remember, I'm speaking of TN and it's probably going to be different everywhere you go.
this is great! I have been trying to find that info for Ok.! Thanks! Repped ya!
North Dakota is a NO too
