How to get the grocery deals

I've done really well couponing for toletries in the past few months but not as well at the grocery store. What is the secret to getting the great deals for food? I read that most people get popular food items for under $1? I live in an area where coupons are not allowed to be doubled. Any advice is appreciated!!!

Look in the store forums area for the stores you shop at and look through the ads that people post there. Once you figure out what you usually buy that is also on sale look for coupons to go with it. The trick is to figure out the best price that particular item goes for and stock up when it hits that price. That part takes a little trial and error to figure out.

I live in the land of no doubling too , I also live in Florida. What stores are around you? My main stores to shop are Publix, Winndixie, Dollar General and CVS but I also sometimes shop Walmart, Kmart, Family Dollar & Save A Lot.
