Wow! I thought things were cheaper in TX! What sorts of things are you eating?

I just spent $113 today at Winco. There was no meat purchased, but some cheese. I did buy some gluten free bagels which are expensive as bagels go. I bought quite a few magazines and I bought cat treats. We will be going to Walmart tomorrow and I will probably spend another $10 to $20 there, depending on what they have. Sometimes they are sold out of what we want.

Some of what I bought today will last me a week or two more. And I do have some things now in my freezer, fridge and cupboard to fill out the meals.

We are trying to eat less meat and eat more beans. I eat more peanut butter. My daughter is allergic to peanut butter so she can't eat that.

I did use some coupons earlier in the week at Albertsons. They put out doublers every so often. You can use them for three coupons up to $1.00 each. I bought 2 unstoppables with a $1 off coupon for each and they were also on sale. Even at that they were expensive so if I were really trying to cut back I would just do without. I also bought some chicken and apple sausages for my daughter using a coupon. But the coupons have been very sparse lately.

Can you grow a garden or even some things like tomatoes in pots?

Mainly I try to stock up when things are cheap, but only on things that will keep. Like things I can put in the freezer or canned goods. We've been able to live off of our stockpile mainly for the past several weeks. I do still have to buy some perishables and other things that I have run out of. Like hot mustard.

when you price match at walmart dont foget that you have to add those saving in as extra for you never see the real cost in the total..so if you buy 5 items that are $1 each but you price match them at .50 you have to tell yourself that you saved that $2.50 for it was not ever on your final sales total.

I love to price match and use coupons on the item to.. :) more savings that way...

take it easy and dont rush your big savings will come with time and learning

oh I dont worry much about the dates on items(unless its frig/freezer stuff)..dates are more for freshness they dont mean a item is bad after that date.
