The way you see it is correct. However, it it YMMV on how cashiers see it. I don't think it's a store-to-store basis, really cashier-to-cashier.
Just a few questions about coupon wording.
It seems to me like if the coupon reads "Save 1.00 on X wyb Y", you should be able to use that Q, AND a coupon for Y. And a coupon that says "Save 1.00 wyb X AND Y" you could only use that coupon.
Does anyone know how stores view this? Specifically, I shop and Kroger and Walmart.
Any insight is great- thanks!![]()

I tried this a CVS recently. I had a q that said..."free milk when you buy (3) rice krispies treat. I also had rice krispies treat q's. Lady told me I couldnt use them both cause (in her words) "that would be double dipping!!". I tried it at Dillons too, cant remember what q's it was but the cashier also told me I couldnt use both. I think I am gonna quite trying!![]()
Yep, technically you should be able to use both coupons on the first scenario.....however.......let's say the coupon says something like this:
Save $1.00 on milk WYB any Keebler cookies.
Obviously, it is Keebler putting out this coupon (as opposed to every company in the world that produces milk). I have found that the coupon will beep if you use another Keebler coupon because the first one is also coded for the Keebler cookies, not for the milk. Unfortunately, it is a YMMV situation. Usually, my cashiers will just put it through, but it depends on the situation. If I have a whole cart full of groceries, then they'll put it through, but if I only bought the milk and the cookies, I would probably have to go into a long discussion on why it's ok to use both. I usually just save myself the headache and only try when I have a lot of groceries to get and coupons to use.
