How do people go to the stores and..

Save SO much money? Like the TLC show Extreame Couponing.
I'm new at this and still trying to get organized.
How do you find the best deals and organize the coupons for the shopping trip?
I'm from Texas North of Houston and its hard find coupon sites for Texas.

The main stores we have are.....
Walmart
HEB
Kroger
Brookshire Brothers
CVS
Walgreens
Family Doller
Doller General

Because the people on that show are allowed to brake the "store's" coupon policy..The store lets them use as many of the same coupons as they need to and the store will still double and/or triple them all.

The show is so UNREAL that it is not funny. We as grown ups want and need to believe that show is real when it really is not.

That being said you can really save a lot with coupons. I am able to save about 60% on most of my trips but sometimes I do get items for free or save a little more than 60%.

That "show" has already had a bad impack on what coupons are being put out. More and more coupons are starting to have shorter expire dates, or a .50/1 coupon has became .50/2 or .30/1 This will make it somewhat harder to find those great savings.

But keep in mind that any amount you save with coupons is money in your pocket and will add up over time.

Most stores have made changes to their coupon policy also. The "show" has hurt us couponers more than it has help anyone.

You can save but it will take time to. Hang in there. The use of coupons is not something that you will learn to do over night. Even us that have been doing coupon shopping for years still learn something new every now and then.

Go to store deal forum and find the kroger deal threads for most the most part the kroger deals in them can be found at every kroger store. The prices do vary some from state to state tho..

Drug stores are hard to learn to shop at and make the most of you money,RR, or EBC so becareful of them for now.

I watch the show sometimes and think "wow that's crazy how they can get that much stuff". But I guess thats how they get down to $0.00. Buy doing all that stuff just for a tv show.

Yes it is and its also why at those stores on the show we get a hard time so badly now about the use of coupons. They brought it on themself but balme us. Kroger has been on there alot and know alot of kroger staores dont even double anymore and others have cut back on how they will and so on.

If you do watch the show again just do so for the FUN of it...I myself have TLC blocked from my tv's so nobody can watch it any. I really wish the veiws the show gets woudl get down to nothing so they will take it off. The longer its on the more damage its going to do to coupons.

I truly feel that the person that came up with that show had it in mind to hurt the use of coupons not help it.

That show is not for real at all. They showed a lady getting overage in a Fred Meyer here. They do not give overage. Gah!

I don't watch that show anymore. When I watched the first few episodes, I found myself yelling at the tv. It was frustrating just to watch. It is just NOT REAL.

here is the link to the Store deals in HCW forums. You should be able to find most if not all of the stores you have. Looking there will help you to find what is a good deal at each of those stores. Hang in there, you will learn

I'll be honest, I'm here because of "that show." I know what's on the show isn't realistic, but I have had a couple good ideas from it.

For example, taking a price-match to a store that doubles. I haven't done it b/c I haven't found a store that price-matches AND doubles, but it's a good idea.

Also sorting coupons.

I've never seen the show, but everything I've learned about couponing, I've learned from this site! So you've definitely come to the right place to learn how. I started coupon-ing years ago, but could never get a feel of it. So, this year...money was getting really tight...so, I forced myself to learn it slowly, but when I saw that show I think it was in April.....boy, my mouth hit the floor. Ever since then I saved more money and own things that I would only walk pass at the store (b/c they could not fit into my budget). So, hats off to the show....but, it can seem unrealistic....I just think many on the show save their bulk orders for the show. If you notice, you rarely see them getting spices, eggs, water, deli meat, bread, milk etc. They always seem to buy alot of the same item. Which is cool? I have my trips like that, too....it's just on the show they don't say that!
