Re: How long do you prepare for your shopping trips?
I usually take about 20 minutes to scan an ad, circling things I know I want (like when I was a kid with the Toys R Us book). I then go through and mark ones I know I have Qs for in the ad and cross out ones that I could hold off on. I spend about 5 minutes comparison shopping online to see if I can get a better deal elsewhere and make a note.
Formally making a list takes about a minute or two.
Then getting all my Qs out and organized in my take-to-the-store carrier takes about 10 minutes.
So at most for a one-store shopping trip, it would be around 45 min. What's nice is that during the quick comparison-shopping time, I've already begun my list for another store.
I am still in stockpiling mode, but not on many items- so things I used to go gaga over, I know I can hold off on unless there's a super good deal.

I don't prepare long enough. One reason I signed up to learn about the savings I could be missing out on.
