oh my gosh am i doing this right?

Im so sorry to drive you all nuts. so Im sitting here with all my piles of coupons.
do any of you use the grocery weekly lists that some other websites offer?
I dont know if Im suppose to mention names so I wont.
so once i have all these piles of coupons by SS rd PG.
So what is the first thing you do? if you go on those weekly lists of grocery store deals or you dont.... do you FIRST: go to your weekely Circular and see what is on sale and then just match the coupon?
ok then also I marked the coupon stacks with the dates they came out (yesterday) like you all said but each week circulars come out for all the differenet stores.. so How do I end up using all these coupons. Maybe im not wording my questions right but IM soo confused. Lets say in the Smart Source for example lets just say there is 15 pages of coupons.. so if my store: in southern Calif. Pavillions (Vons) has some good deals on maybe 10 coupons in there so I cut them out go to the store use them, how do I rememer to use all the others or do they eventually al come out in the circulars each week.. because I know the #1 rule here seems DONT BUY IT BECAUSE YOU NEED IT, BUY IT BECAUSE ITS ON SALE.. Makes sense but how do you not miss all these coupons..
am I making any sense at all? I wish I had someone lived close to me that could just come sit for an hour and explain.. again IM sorry to sound like iM repeating myself in these forums and thank you all for yoru patience

I live in San Diego. What I do, is I take the Vons, Ralphs and Albertson's ads and come on here and read the posts related to that week, sometimes there isn't a post though. So normally what I do is go through the ad, look at what I want, then come here to the database and see if there is a coupon for it and where. If I have that coupon, I get the item.

I can tell you Vons will only allow 3 like coupons for an item and will only double the 1st like coupon to $1. So if you have a .50 coupon, they will double it to $1, if you have a .40 coupon, it'll double to .80.

I don't know where you read that 'rule' but it is not true

You buy what you need but with coupons and when the item is on sale.

As to how to use the coupons, again, just because you have a coupon does not mean it will be used. If it does not line up with a sale and it's not something you need, you don't use it.

Remember, even if the coupon is something you normally buy, if you don't have a good sale to match up with it, chances are the coupon will come out again and match up with a future sale.

Unless you HAVE to have something that is not on sale and you have a coupon for it, then wait until a good sale price presents itself and use your coupon then.

Please find a way to file your coupons for easy retrieving, having them piled up by insert isn't going to help you find them easily.

You need to put them into a system by category so you'll know where to find the coupons you might have on a sale item.

It is perfectly normal to find yourself throwing out coupons that have expired that never lined up with a good sale. Don't get so caught up with having to use a coupon that you're buying things you don't need at the moment or can't stockpile at a good price.

The whole purpose behind using coupons is to get the things you need (and those you wish to stockpile for future use) on sale WITH a coupon for maximum savings.

All other coupons that don't get used will be replaced in the future inserts, so don't be concerned that they don't get used.
