Default Is there a way to know a "good" deal when first starting out?

I checked out the prices at Dollar Store and Walmart and a nearby store known for very low prices but not close enough to shop every week. I usually shop at Giant Eagle because of the Fuel Perks and Double Q=same as Walmart. My question is...if one store can sell a product everyday at a certain price does this mean that eventually there will be a better "sale price" at my Giant Eagle or if I can get it at that price (plus Q's) will that most likely be the lowest Giant Eagle has it? I've been doing a lot of research but still confused.
    TIA

I don't know about Giant Eagle, as mine as Giant-PA stores, but Walmart will pricematch and seems pretty good about it.

    Kelly,

You just have to study the ads for the stores and if you find a price that, with coupon, makes it at least 50% off if not much more, than you could buy some at that price and that will get you what you need until you learn what your markets best deals are going to be.

It's a time thing, it takes time to learn what stores offer good deals.

Get what you need, on sale with coupons but don't go crazy stocking up until you know what really is a great price. Anything 75% and up savings is usually a good bet that will be the best price you might find though (that would be the combined savings between sale price and your coupon used).

I know that's not much help but when you take time to see the ads for a few weeks in a row, you'll start to see what good sale prices are vs those that are not so great.

Coupons are found money - who walks by money on the ground??

Thanks for responses. Guess I'll just keep on tracking prices. Was just wondering because of the Tide on sale this week. Cheapest I've seen in several months of tracking but Dollar General has it everyday for same price. Thanks again
