Understanding P&G Coupons Correctly - a bit confused..

i'm new at this thing, and i want to do it right , that way i don't get discouraged, and give up.. one main question i have is about the small print on the coupons.. "LIMIT ONE PER PURCHASE OF PRODUCT AND QUANTITY STATED, no more then 4 coupons for the same product in the same transaction". what does this mean? if my store doubles coupons are these valid?

Alright, so P&G coupons state on them "Limit one coupon per purchase of products and quantities stated. Limit of 4 like coupons in same shopping trip."

I want to make sure I am understanding this correctly. That means I can get up to 4 of the same product and use 4 of the same coupons, correct?

Yes it means you can buy 4 tides and use 4 tide coupons.

Now you can buy 5 tides or even 6 but you can still only use 4 tide coupons in that trans.

My fist advice to everyone is to read all the couponing basics posts. It is pretty overwhelming, but you will find tons of info there!

The small print is a little hard to understand!! "Limit one per purchase of product and quantity stated" means you can only use 1 coupon per item purchased if the coupon is for $1 off one item. The "quantity stated" can be different if the coupon is for $1 off 2 items (cereals are often like this). In that case, you can only use 1 coupon per 2 items (because each coupon requires you to buy 2 items).

What you can't do is buy 1 Heinz Ketchup, then use 4 "50 cent off one" coupons to pay for it. It might sound obvious, but there is a reason this is stated on the coupon.

Some cashiers don't understand the wording, and think that it means you can only use 1 coupon in your transaction. That is not the case. Each item you buy is considered a seperate "purchase," the whole thing adds up to 1 transaction.

The coupons that say "4 like coupons per transaction" mean that you can only use 4 of the same coupon per whole transaction. Some stores / cashiers will let you do seperate transactions to get around that rule, though; others will make you leave the store and come back to use 4 more of the same coupon.

"one per purchase" = one manufacturer coupon per item ($/1 = must have 1 item to match with that coupon, $/2 means you need 2 items to match with that one manufacturer coupon, etc)

4 like coupons per transaction = 4 of the same coupon (must be the exact same coupon) per order....so you can have 4 $1/1 bounty in one order.

If it says one per purchase that just means that you can only use one coupon per individual purchase of that item. If your buying 10 skippy peanut butters...and it says one per purchase...you can use 10 coupons for those 10 jars of PB as long as the coupon is cents dollars off of 1.

They put that there so you don't try to use 2 different coupons on the same exact jar of pb.

transaction is different. When it says one per transaction or 4 per transaction they are limiting the amount of coupons you can use in that transaction no matter how many you are buying.

When it says four per shopping trip that means you can only use 4 of the same exact coupon per that transaction and then you need to leave the store. If you want to purchase more...you need to do another shopping trip...thus going back into the store.
