New and confused:Stacking Printable Store Coupons with Manufacturer coupons

I am new to this couponing thing, I have used coupond for years, but not like this. So My question is this. If a store like Safeway has a coupon for lets say $5 off an item and and on thier website that item is put on your card, so when you go to buy it it will be on your rewards card. And I have the same amount off in a manufacturers coupon. Can I use both? Or is that their $5 an equivelent to a manufacturers coupon?

Same question for a stores online printable coupon? If I have the same amount off in a Manufacturers clipped coupon? Can I still use both?

It varies by store. I do not shop Safeway so I will leave that to someone else to answer, but Walgreens is one I can think of where you can use a store coupon and stack a manufacturer's on top.

Harris Teeter (grocery store in NC) also has coupons that you can load on your shopper's card and then you can stack coupons from the newspaper on top of that.

There are store, however, that do not allow stacking. I would suggest checking the store forums for the stores you shop regularly and, if the coupon policy is not posted (most are), you can check with other members who shop there.

It is really store dependent. Target does allow for stacking of store and manufacturer's coupons. My local grocery store chain Stop & Shop does not - it's one or the other. Many chains view e-coupons that you load onto your card as manufacturer coupons and are now not allowing the use of both an e-coupon and a paper coupon. Just get to know your store's policy.

Thank You! I went to my safeway yesterday and I asked the Asst. Manager and he really didn't know. He said that e-coupon would say whether it was an Mfg coupon on it. Well Nooo it doesn't, so I am going to go buy a few things I need and see what happens. he said you can stack a store coupon and Mfg coupon though. So, let's see how that goes. I just forgot to ask if they double coupons. Darn it! Well I am starting slow and easy on this, hope I get it soon.

Here in Arizona Safeway does double and triple coupons. Right now if you, for instance have a coupon $0.35 they will credit you $1.0. That's what I was told last week. Don't know how long that's going to go on though. $1.0 is the limit though.

I don't beleive California Safeways double. There are some in Washington and Oregon (certain areas) that do. You can use a store and a MF together at Safeway, Target, Walgreens and Kroger/Fred Meyer. Don't remember if there's any Kroger affiliates in CA or not. I don't think you'll have any stores that double there, but I could be wrong.

Safeway store coupons are pretty well marked, even on the site. Most of the loadable coupons on teh Safeway site are MF, but every once in a while there's a store one. There was a $1 off $5 worth of produce just recently. I usually print them, because then I can use it at my leisure...also I can usually print two, but if I load it I only get one.

If it is a loadble MF coupon, then you no longer can use a paper coupon with it.

Well I went to Safeway yesterday to buy 4 items, it was awful, 1st I got the wrong thing, then I ripped my self off because I had a coupon for 1.50 off of 5 so I bought six, but they also had a sale buy3 get one free. I should have bouht 8 right? PLus my free egss didn't show up on my card and the cashier had bad attitude. Well, I came home called Safeway to talk to the MGR whom was gone for the day. SO I called the customer svc number and was told that my card and current phone number weren't linked. They fixed it and now I shoul be ok. I will try again next week, but may also try the other Safeway close by. I am learning about all these stores one at a time. Still need to make my binder. My daughter's store Albertsons in So Cal. Doubles, but I don't think any stires here in NO. CA Double.

if the sale is buy 3 get 1 free that should be thought as as a store coupon. and your manufacturer was for $1.50/5

dont worry about the first trip. things can go this way. keep up the work. you did good by calling and asking about your card and now you should be good to go on that.
