Double Coupon Limit Questions - Newbie

I am new to couponing and have a question regarding double coupons. Stores near me have printed coupon doublers in the paper but they all say 4 double coupons per family per shopping trip. Does that mean I can only purchase 4 items that I want to use double coupons for?
What does everyone else do in this situation? I'd like to use my doubler for several of my manufacturer coupons, do I need to only buy 4 items, then leave and come back later with another doubler to buy 4 more?

Ideas, suggestions, tips are all welcome!

i got myself another store card. harris teeter keeps track of visits on their vic card so i enrolled my husband with his own card.

Depends on if they will let you run those 4 to the car and come back right then again..some stores will other wont.

From what that says they only double 4 coupons at one time. And sice it says "per family per shopping trip" I about bet they wont let you run out and back in the same day, but you can ask..

and if there is a store card you may need to get one in your hubbies name also for they may read the card and kkep up with your doubles in one day that way.

Seeing that you are in Oregon I am wondering if the store you are talking about is Albertsons. If it is you what you can do is take your clipable double coupons (Albertsons usually has 3 not 4) and you can do three coupons at a time and Albertsons will let you do up to three back to back transactions (no need to run out to the car and back in just divide up your order into three transactions).
