Default Newb questions: Whats the best method?

I started couponing at the end of february after a guy at work introduced me to the idea. He suggested using a website, to start, where you pay 9.00 for 8wks for one store, my store is giant eagle. Like everyone else I am really busy so this seemed like the best way to get started and not get overwhelmed. After reading a lot on this site I am wondering if there is a better way to maximize my coupons. Right now i save about 60% on my bill and usually have two separate bills for certain coupons and in store coupons. My last bill was roughly 495 and I paid 204 and my second bill was 107 and I paid 28. I have a decent stockpile but i feel i have been spending too much.
just wondering if there are any suggestions.

What method do you use? What makes it easiest? Should I look at more than one store? Does anyone have experience with these type of sites?
Is this the fastest way for the cheapest amount?

P.S. using the website I separate my coupons by date of the sunday paper. Is this efficient?

It sounds like you're off to a great start!

I don't have access to a paid site that addresses my area grocery stores, but I am able to find just about everything I need with the forums here. Check out the forum for your preferred grocery store, and I'm sure you'll be able to tell how helpful it is after a few minutes.

If you have other grocery stores in your area, definitely check them out, but wait until you're comfortable with Giant Eagle first. You don't have to go to every store every week, but a different store might have better sales on items you need one week. That's the week to do your shopping there.

Also consider the drug stores: CVS, Rite-Aid, Walgreens. That's where I get all my household's health/hygiene items for free. They also have a selection of grocery and household items that can be free or cheap. Personally, I would be overwhelmed to jump in to all three stores at once. Start with one and, when you're comfortable with that system, add another. If you have access to all three, I'd go with CVS first; they may or may not have the best sales right now, but I think it's the easiest system to learn.

    Hope that helps.

Giant Eagle is one of the stores here online - can't everyone help you with matchups for free? Although I think you have done GREAT so far!

personally, you would be paying for matchups which you can get here for free. most of those "paid" sites, search the internet for sites like this and then look to see what members are posting and what is being matched up and then post those on their paid sites.

and in all honesty, your savings is FANTASTIC! you are doing a great job. if you diversify yourself and pick up another store (like a pharmacy or another grocery) and stockpile a few items there. i find that my local grocery is sometimes better in price since they double better than kroger....but kroger can be better especially for their mega sale and clearance items.....but wags/cvs are great for personal care items.

HotCouponWorld.com. You should check it out sometime.

Seriously, I trade for coupons right here. I have never not found what I needed. You'll just need to become a trader in order to utilize our trading forums. You can do that by clicking on the "Trader in Training" link in my siggy below.
