Beginner Question about doubling...
Hey Ladies,
I read the couponing 101 and 102 earlier today but I'm wondering if it's ok to double manufactor's coupons as long as it doesn't say "do not double"???
Ex: Laundry Detergent=$11.85 on sale for $9.55-$2.00 man. coupon doubled = $9.55-$4.00 = $5.55 TOTAL
Is this right? Or are you guys getting store coupons doubled?
Or are you just putting together store discounts, manufacture coupons, and newspaper coupons in order to get these insane discounts....
I'm just trying to figure out how to stockpile on toilet paper, paper towels, deodarant, toothbrushes etc etc
Thanks for feedback and tips :)

Re: Beginner Question about doubling...
Doubling coupons is a store specific promotion that only
Select stores do where the store takes your manufactures coupons and doubles the value. Some stores double manufactures coupons up to $0.50 (making a $0.50 coupon worth a $1.00) some stores double up to $1.00 (making the coupon worth $2.00) very few stores double up to $2.00. The only store I know that does that off hand is Kmart and they don't do it everyday and there are usually a lot of restrictions to it.
To learn if your store doubles coupons please check the individual store forum for the stores you have in your area. Store Deals - Hot Coupon World
Double coupons does not mean using two manufactures coupons on one item. The only time you are allowed to use two coupons on one item is when you use 1 store coupon and 1 manufactures coupon (if your individual store allows it)

Re: Beginner Question about doubling...
Hi! I'm in MO, too!
It depends on where you shop as to if your coupons will double or not. It is not at every store. I don't know where you are, but I'm in Springfield and no store around here doubles an amount as high as a $2.00 coupon. (except K-Mart and that is VERY RARE!)
Manufacturer coupons and newspaper coupons are the same thing. They say ''manufacturer coupon'' across the top of the coupon. It's just the source where you get them is different: newspaper/insert, magazine, peelies, tearpads, etc.
Most coupons will double (at stores that double coupons) even if they say ''do not double'' as long as the coupon barcode starts with a ''5''.
Specific stores have their own coupons. (store coupons) Target, Dillon's, etc. These will say ''store coupon'' across the top instead of ''Manufacturer Coupon''. These can only be used at that specific store. At Target you can combine the two types to get kind of like a double discount, at Dillon's you can not.
In order to start, you really have to start collecting coupons and really watching to see what is on sale that you use. It does not happen overnight. Look up the weekly sales flyers of the stores you shop at and see what you can match up. You biggest discounts will come from combining those sales with coupons. Once you really get started you can just glance at an ad and know what coupons you have on hand and what will be the best deals for the week.
I have no idea if I answered any of your questions or not! I'm listening to my husband explain fractions to my son while I type!
Good job asking questions, keep it up and I'm sure between all of us we can get you pointed in the right direction!
