| Re: Newbies ~ Post Your 1st Brag I'm a OBSESSED Newbie SAHW in Houston and this was my first shopping trip experience. Well, it was primarily for experiment. So it went to 4 stores just to get an idea on which one has the lowest or best prices in general also, just to get an idea on how this whole thing works.
Hear is a breakdown of my spending and would like to know if I did good? Experienced couponer's advise is very welcomed.
First stop - Walgreens
Total - $50.60- ISC-/$6.50, Advertised Saving/$9.49, CPN/$1 = OOP/$33.61.....PLUS $19.98 MIR. Randalls
Total - $66.36 - Card Saver/$22.21, CPN/$4.30 = OOP/$39.85.....PLUS, I got a $5 MFG CPN at register for using a Kimberly-Clark CPN to use next time shopping. That was Cool! HEB****I luv HEB and was my preferred GS.....but, I am disappointed after reading that their ISC are MFG CPN and can't stack them with the CPN'S I have. I think they still have the best overall prices.
Total = $9.77 - CPN/$4.74 = OOP/$5.03
Finally.....Kroger
Total = $43.18 - Plus Card/$10.69, CPN/$3.60 = OOP/$28.89
TOTAL SPENT = $169.91
TOTAL SAVED = - 62.53
TOTAL OOP = $107.38
WGN MIR - 19.98
$ 87.40
I'm still working on my lingo, so please forgive me if it's not up to par. Stocked up on TP and PT. They were my brand also.
P.S. - My husband thinks I'm crazy.

| Re: Newbies ~ Post Your 1st Brag Ok, I have to brag on this! I did all my grocery shopping this morning at the store that is the most coupon friendly. Noticed that they had Colgate Luminous on sale for .99. DH loves the stuff, won't use anything else and it is normally $2.99 It hasn't been on sale for months! But, they're out. I was going to get a raincheck, but decided I'd check at the other grocery store (same chain) nearby first. Went in, they had it! Woo Hoo.
So, here's how it went-
6 tubes Colgate Luminous .99 - .75 manf q = .24
4 coupon doubler (they would only go to .24 and they only double 4 q's) so total for 6 tubes (drum roll please) OOP.48! That's .08 each! DH is stocked up at least a year, life is goooood.
And before that I was excited about .50 PopTarts, but the .08 Colgate just made my day!

| Re: Newbies ~ Post Your 1st Brag Okay, I went into town last week to use my new coupons.
I used 20 $1/1 Suave lotion coupons at Walmart for the $.97 lotions. And I used 5 of the $3/1 KY Coupons. Our WM doesn't have the trial size, but I got the $2.57 tubes. I bought a bunch of other stuff that we needed too so the overage went towards those things.
I went to Econofoods and used the $5/15 GM products. All the products were on sale, but they wouldn't allow Man Q's. Still, I got Totino's party pizzas for $.67, Green Giant Veggies for $.33/can. Betty Crocker cake mixes for $.92/box and a 20# bag of red potatoes for $3.99, which I would have never found if I had not gone into Econofoods. Then on the way out I noticed they had their KY for 2.66, so I got all 4 boxes and used the overage on some bananas.
Then I went to Ken's which is a local store. They had a 12 ct box of poptarts free when you buy 3 boxes of cereal. I had coupons for $1/2 Frosted Flakes, and they were priced 3 for $9. The KY there was $2.75, and I grabbed all 5 boxes. So for 9.90 OOP I got 4 boxes of cereal, 1 box of poptarts, and 5 boxes of KY.
I know these are not fabulous or free deals, but I think they are pretty good for a start.
