Well, this is not so super awesome, but its one of my best so far, I'm really new to this but being a college student with no money it helps:

Today I went to publix and bought
4 oust air spray cans
1 skintimate shave gel
total= $16.21

But I had 2 vendor coupons for buy 1 get one oust and a $5 off 5 johnson products, so I only paid....
= 4.43 (before tax)!

I'm going to put the ousts in gift bags for my three brothers (with practical things they use)

I went today to CVS with no ECBs - newbie after lurking on this site and a few others for weeks trying to learn everything I could. I think I did rather well.

Re: Newbies ~ Post Your 1st Brag

My very first day on this site was yesterday. I had just returned from target and had purchased two packs of poptarts that had $1 off each box coupons atttached to them. I found this site and found the target coupons online for $1 off 2 boxes. I printed the coupons and returned to target and bought them out of all the boxes that had the coupons attatched.

20 boxes of pop tarts
.49 cents each

9.80 total bill

20 boxes at regular price.. would have been 39.80.

Hello to you all.
My first brag is : Isn't the internet wonderful?!

I just started using coupons just this week.
(Now that the manufacturers and the stores are in
sinc on how to deal with internet coupons).

I too never used coupons before because they were
scarce and for high priced name brand items I never used.
I want to thank everyone here at the board for being
so kind and helpful.

Okay, for my ultimate first timer brag!

The two grocery stores in my area are Price Chopper and Shaws.
The amount I saved today is half my electric bill for this month.

At Shaws the Quaker Oatmeal is on sale for 2/$4.00. And Kellogg
Cereal also 2/$4.00. I couldn't resist to stock up. With the sale
price minus the coupons I paid $7.00 for 4 boxes of Oatmeal
and 3 boxes of cereal -- Regular price would have been $26.33.
A Savings of $19.33. -- $26.33 worth of items for only $7.00. YES!

At Price Chopper Cheerios is on sale 1/2 off.
Again I couldn't resist.

I bought 7 boxes. After the sale and Double Coupons, my total
bill was $5.55. -- Regular price would have been $23.95.
A Savings of $18.40. -- $23.95 worth of items for only $5.55. YES!

Total cereal items -
Regularly $50.28 - Paid $12.55 - Savings $37.73.

Of course during my shopping trip I saved a bit more on single
items bought with coupons.

I am beginning to like Price Chopper -- for their Double Coupon
Policy. Normally they are a bit more than Shaws. But now I will look
closer at PC sales and my coupons. The savings I could get by their
Double Policy is well worth the bit more of gas to travel to them.

Again, thank you all here for turning my on to couponing.
I am pleased to be a part of this board.

My local grocery store has General Mills cereal 4 for $10. They also have a $4 off coupon in their flyer for 4 General Mills products. I also had a $1 coupon off of 3 General Mills cereal. My total should have been $5 but the cereal rang up $1.25 per box. So I got 4 boxes for FREE!!!

Ok, so this one is a little different. Clothing, not groceries.
I am a plus size, and have subscribed to many plus size stores for coupons. If any of you shop at Lane Bryant, you know how pricey they can be.
I got a $15 off $15 or more from Lane Bryant in the mail. It was the day before the new line came in so EVERYTHING in the store was B1G1F. I bought a sweater ($49), Jeans ($44). The Jeans were free, and $15 off the bill, with tax $37 for a nice outfit. I also got $25 real women dollars, redeemable the next day. So the next day I took my mom to get a pair of Jeans.

I am not sure these are good deals for the pros here but they were good for us.

I got 4 head and sholder shampoo (23.7 oz) for $11 ($2.75 each) at Walgreens last week. ( I had a $5 off $25 purchase coupon for Walgreens and I got $8 bonus for next time because I bought 4.) Now if only I had coupons as well.

I got 5 8 packs of bounty for $20 (50 cents a roll). I had used up my bounty coupons or I could have gotten it even cheaper. I will watch at the beginning of the week and head to eBay to capatilize on more deals. :hectic1:

I hope to learn from the masters here as well.

Hello, all. This is my first "brag" post.

I was at Target browsing around while we waited for our Christmas family pictures to get ready for us to look at, and lo, and behold! Someone had left a coupon pamphlet on a shelf. They had taken a few and left what they didn't want. I was soooo excited to find it and my husband was like, "ok, you DO have a problem, you know". But with that flier, I got a free Glade Fabric and Air at Kmart tonight! Today was the last day of the doubles, so I went in and got:

4 bottles of Jergens lotions
4 bottles of Dove shower cream
1 Dove shampoo/1 conditioner
4 Sally Hansen nail polishes
1 Glade Fabric and Air
2 Glade candles- 4 oz size
I Glade scented oil candle holder- the kind that have 2 candles in them, not the Holiday one
2 Glade wisp refills
1 Maalox for kids
4 Tylenol PM bottles
12 Betty Crocker cookie mixes
3 Betty Crocker brownie mixes
2 newpapers

All for $25.34
The cashier said she was going to start couponing. I am so psyched!!!

This isn't anywhere near what the old pros do, but it was my first time to try to work the WAGS RR. I did ok. I learned a lot! I was going to do what was recommended in the deals for newbies without many coupons thread (by anniepaul, I think), but the 3 Walgreens I went to were out of the Walitin for the 99 cent deal. It kind of screwed up my plan, but here is what I ended up doing:

Transaction 1:
1 Colgate toothpaste: 2.99-1.00 MFQ=1.99 oop ($2 RR given)

Transcation 2:
1 Colgate toothpaste: 2.99-1.00 MFQ
1 Chapstick (needed it, and bought it to use the RR & MFQ): 1.89
Used $2 RR from 1st transaction, total oop=1.88 (thought buying the chapstick would allow me to get the $2 from the 2nd toothpaste, but apparently not!)

Transaction 3 (at 2nd WAGS):
1 Colgate toothpaste: 2.99-1.00 MFQ=1.99 oop ($2 RR given)
(was going to get the Reach floss, but decided to get it at WAGS #3 to fill out my $25 worth, since this one was out of soda)

Transcation 4 (at 3rd WAGS):
1 Colgate toothbrush: 2.99-1.00 MFQ ($2 RR given)
6 Coke 12-pks: 20.00 ($5 RR given)
3 Reese's: 2.00 (needed to complete the $25, this location was out of the Reach deal)
total oop= $25 ($12 RR given total - didn't use any RR, since I was worried I wouldn't get any more back on the toothbrush)

Transaction 5:
DH wanted to buy Xmas lights, so I told him about the sale at WAGS. He bought 4 sets of Xmas lights for $30. Since he had 4 items, they let him use all my RR, so total oop=$16. Because he spent over $25, he got $5 RR, then two more $5 RR for the lights.

To summarize:
3 Colgate toothpaste
1 Colgate toothbrush
6 12-pk Coke
1 Chapstick
3 King size Reese's
4 sets of Xmas lights
total oop=$47

I still have $15 RR to use for this next week's sales. It was fun, and I can't wait to get better at this!
