So much more to q'ing than I ever realized. Hubby got laid off so I've had extra incentive.

Trip today at CVS
Dry Idea $2.99 - MFC $2 + Extra Bucks $2 (free)
Purex Detergent $2.99 - MFC $1 = $1.99
Hershey Kisses $1.88
Vitamin D $2.99 + EB $2.99 (free)
Gas-X $7.29 - MFC $1 + EB $3 = $3.29
Aveeno $6.49 - MFC $2 + EB $2 = $2.49

with q's and redeemed eb's - paid $9.64 and got $9.99 back in EB
Also left with $4 q off next order and $5 q off easter candy

I am delighted to be a part of this group. Thanks!!!!

Re: Newbies ~ Post Your 1st Brag

Well here goes - my official first (sort of) brag. I wouldn't say that I am new to couponing, I just kind of slowly veered away from it and have just recently gotten back in the game.

Walmart:

6 tubes of Crest toothpaste -
All You Magazine (March ed) - 2.37
Total OOP = 2.37

Target:

Got 8 J & J buddies soaps -
2 cans Pledge furniture cleaner - 1.00 (.50 each)
Pantene shampoo and conditioner - 5.66 (plus a free hairspray)
2 J & J no more tears shampoo - 2.99
1 J & J no more tears detangler - 1.99
2 snack sized Cheetos - .29 each
Lint Roller - 3.94 (paid full price for - but really needed it)
Lucky Charms 2.54 (again full price - but needed)
Fruity Pebbles 2.84 (again full price - but needed)
Single Coke (was thirsty :) ) 1.44
Secret deodorant - 2.00

Total before savings: $ 54.60
Total OOP: 24.67
Savings: 29.93

Both the cashier and the customer behind me were in awe - they just couldn't believe it!!!!

Rite Aid:

8 lb bag IAMS dog food - 8.99 - on sale for 5.99
Total OOP = .99

(Also got a rain check for paper plates that I have a great coupon for)

Shop Rite:

4 Super Pretzels - 1.84 (1/2 sales price each)
Have 4 .75 off coupons which will be doubled:

Total OOP before taxes will be: 1.36
(Because of the sale they were totally out of the pretzels, but got a rain check for 4 and the coupons are still good for a while. Just need to get back there to pick them up)

Walgreens:

4 Dove beauty bars - with sales and coupon 1.19 each for 2 and 2
(the really cool thing with this was I wanted to buy four of the single bars to get the highest RR offered, but they didn't have any. The employee who was helping me on the floor told me he would ring me up and take care of it. So he had me get two of the 2 pack soaps and he rung them up as 4 separate bars of soap)
2 Dove Deodorant - .46 each (after sales and coupons)
2 Dove conditioners - 1.59 (with coupons and rebate of full price of 1)
Pantene Shampoo & Conditioner - FC 4.00 (includes $3.00 walgreens rebate and another $ 1.00 off coupon) PLUS another FREE hairspray.
Dental Floss, Listerine & 2 pack toothbrushes = $ 2 MONEY MAKER - (Sale 3/9 - 5.00 coupon + $6 in RR)
Glade Motion "Sprayer" = 1.99 (Originally $ 9.99 - $4 Walgreens coupon - 4 MFG Coupon)
Irish Spring 8 PK - 4.99 (just had a $ 1 coupon - but hubby needed it)
Colgate toothpaste = 1.00 (-2.49 coupon)

Total Bill: 75.69
Total Savings: 42.90
Total OOP: 32.79
Total RR and Rebates: 19.00

Second Walmart trip: Went back because I thought that Crystal Light was on sale, but it wasn't at the store I went to.

Bought 4 Crystal Lights (they were bigger then what is sold in my grocery store and the math worked out enough that it was still worth it, as DH drinks it daily)

Garnier Shampoo and Conditioner - 5.00 for both (purchased, as it was the cheapest price I could find to submit for a towel offer)

Sale 2.99 each = 11.96
Coupons = $2.00 total
TOOP = 14.96

Not sooo great, but something we use nonetheless and cheaper then if I bought it at the supermarket.

Now I just have to figure out how to get these huge savings that you all seem to get when doing your main household shopping at the grocery stores.

On a side note I recently scored some great stuff from FreeCycle:

A white three shelf bookcase (in near perfect condition)
A 19" color TV (which I really needed, as my color tube was on the fritz - in great condition - works perfectly)
A 4 drawer metal filing cabinet in very good condition
A metal stake with lead for my new Jack Russell puppy (was brand new - the plastic piece was still at the bottom of the spike as a precaution)

Lovin FreeCycle

This was my first great day at CVS. I started about 3 weeks ago.

1 Colgate Total Whitening 6 oz. (w/ free toothbrush) $1.95
1 Schick Quattro w/ trimmer $8.99
1 Wisk Ultra 50 oz. $5.99
1 Crest Pro-Health Enamel Care $3.49
1 Oral B 2-pack toothbrushes $4.99

Coupons
Colgate Total -$1.00
Schick -$4.00
Wisk -$1.00
Crest Pro-Health -$1.00
Oral B -$2.00

ECBs Used
2.99, 3.00, 4.99, 5.00

Total OOP: $ .90
ECBs earned: $9.49

I used $6.49 more ECBs than I earned, but I was still pretty proud of myself! Everything I bought was either on sale or gave ECBs and I had a coupon for every item!

This may not be too exciting for some but I was pretty excited by the time I walked out of the store. I ran down to the Krogers at the end of our street to pick up some things for the week. By the time the cashier got done ringing up my stuff (and before I gave her my Krogers card), the bill was $158. I gave her my card and then my coupons and by the time everything was all said and done, my bill was $107!! Like I said, not too exciting for some but I was pretty excited.

The best part of the deal - I had a catlina for buy 1 Steamfresh dinner for 2 and get a Steamfresh veggie or rice free ($2.99 value). I also happened to have a coupon for $1.50 off the Steamfresh dinner. When I gave the coupon to the cashier, rather than looking for the Steamfresh veggies that I bought ($1.79), she just ran it through for $2.99!! So I got the free veggies plus and extra $1.20 off!!

Like I said, in the grand scheme of things it may not be too good but I was pretty excited about it.

This was actually from last Friday; but due to computer issues' it has taken me until now to post.

My fabulous trip to CVS:

Pantene 2/$7
Glade scented oil candle refills 4/$10
Gold Emblem gummies .88
Colgate Max white toothpaste $2.99
Rightguard deodorant $2.99
Aveeno shave cream $4.99

What I did:

2 Pantene shampoo
2 Pantene cond.
2 Pantene hair spray
4 Glade candle refills
2 bags gummies
1 Colgate
1 Rightguard
2 Aveeno

- 4.99 x 2 (Pantene B2G1F)
- 1.00 x 2 (used on free Pantene hair sprays)
- 2.00 x 2 ($2/2 Glade)
- 1.00 (Colgate q)
- 2.00 x 2 (Aveeno q's)
- 1.00 ECB
- 1.00 ECB
- 1.00 ECB
- 2.00 ECB
- 4.00 ECB
- 4.99 ECB
- 5.00 ECB
- 10.00 ($10/50)

Total of items I took home $70.72

Total oop = $.03

and I earned back $17.99 ECB's of the $18.99 ECB's I spent!

My kids were impressed and I will never forget the look on the CVS employee's face.

I called my fiance to brag, he's very proud ^_^

HAPPY DANCE Re: Newbies ~ Post Your 1st Brag

Well I just started couponing and today was my first try at Rite-Aid. I used SmartSource coupons and then looked through Rite-Aid's weekly sale ads and figured out my plan.

1 Bounty paper towel roll (regularly $2.19) on sale for $.99 + $.25 off q
1 Replenish contact solution $9.99 - $3 off Ad q - $1 off q
1 Covergirl lipgloss regularly $5.99 - $1 q
AND Rite-Aid was having a B1G1F Covergirl sale so I got another eyeshadow trio pack. :)

So without coupons and sales, it would have been $23.36.
I paid $11.72 without tax.
Total savings: $11.64

YAY! It's not amazing like some of the replies here, but it's a start, right? The best part: it was FUN! I feel so accomplished.
