    Thumbs Down Disappointed

Ive been a lurker on here for a while, Im 20 and living at home while attending college. I would love to start couponing. SO today I bought the Sunday paper. I am very disappointed. There were really no good coupons. There was like a coupon insert and many sale inserts, a lot of holiday sales. Is this typical?

not typical because of the holiday.

Usually there is 2, sometimes 3 or 4 inserts.

the same here...it happens that way sometimes..some weeks there is some good ones that I love and others there is nothing for me but look on here for someone might be looking for the coupons you got and they may have some you like..hold on to them becasue it may take a week or so before you find anyone looking for them then agian no one might be looking for them at all..
Buy your papers at the dollar tree if you have one for they are $1 there and that starts your saving right then and you dont feel as bad when it a bad week.

Go to the "Resources" tab and print coupons, or search the database and find printables to print. That will get you going. The weekend after thanksgiving, they'll be good again!

It also depends upon what area of the country your in and what size of city etc. Our hometown paper has very few good coupons, while the two larger cities in my area get better coupons and sometimes even higher dollar amounts. There are some places that sell their time for clipping coupons and you can get some better ones that way. The plus side to that is you can pick just the ones you want.

I'd say it's typical only in that it's right before the holiday, but it's not like that every Sunday. Heck, there are some Sundays that there won't be any coupons because of a holiday so I'm glad for just one insert containing a few use-able coupons.

Also checking the Insert Coupon Thread out each week or subscribing to it helps to know a few days beforehand what might be in your newspaper. It can vary, but a nice guideline.

This isn't a typical week (well, typical for a pre-holiday week, but not for a normal week). I agree--it's not an exciting week for qs. Not for me, anyway. Also, I couldn't find as many inserts when I made my rounds to hunt for them at Starbucks. I think everyone was grabbing papers to find out about holiday sales.
