How does everyone get deals on meat (chicken mostly but ground turkey and what not) and veggie (fresh) is there a way, do they give coupons for those?

I keep my eyes open for Tyson Chicken coupons that come in the paper. If you know one is coming out...stock up on the paper (or order extra Q's) then when you use them at the store buy the smallest packages of chicken you can find. Ususally the Tyson Q's are for $1 and many times you can find chicken deals for lb/.99.
as for veggies...keep you eyes open for buy xyz get $$ off produce.

Look for peelies for meat. Also, most of the fresh meat qs I find are WYB, so get the smallest package you can. And look in the marked down section also. Sometimes there are great deals to be had there even without a q.

I have seen tons of qs for hot dogs, lunchmeat, smoked sausage, any Farmland product, any Bar S product, etc.

Meatless meals can be just as good and very cheap. Bean burritos, veggie stir fry, veggie fried rice, dinner salad, beans in the crock pot, meatless chili, soup with rice, noodles or potatoes and veggies... Check a recipe site for meatless recipes, you'll find a bunch of ideas.

Thanks! We eat a lot of chicken breast so I usually get it at walmart for 3lbs for $7.00.
My kids are so picky, they wont eat the tyson chicken, they wont eat lunch meat, the smoked sausage I can get away with sometimes.
I wil have to look for the meat less ones, if they know there is beans, they probably wont eat it. I tried tacos with refried beans instead of ground turkey I did not tell them, Ha, they would not touch them!
Veggies they love-the soy beans, they gobble, but the are pricey...no canned veggies though.

Fresh boneless, skinless chicken breast is the most expensive chicken. You can save a lot by buying it different ways. For example, fresh boneless skinless is $5.49 a pound at my store (more if you want organic). Frozen boneless skiness is $2.50 a pound. Split breasts (you skin and debone yourself) is $1.99. A whole chicken is .79 per pound and again, you skin and debone yourself and have both white and dark meat to work with.

So, have a look at your options and definitely consider stocking up when there are sales!

If you live in a state where you can use wine tags with NWPN that could significantly help reduce your meat budget as well! I don't live in one of those states, so I just save by stocking up when meat goes on sale. For example, Fareway always has deals on ground beef for a much lower price when you buy it by the 10 lb. tube. So I do that and then portion it into smaller baggies when I get home. It saves quite a bit of money. I also buy chicken with the bones and skin and debone/skin it myself. That saves quite a bit of money.

As for produce, I just watch for sales and buy then. I buy what's in season and I only buy what we will use for the week to prevent spoilage.

fresh vegetables: rare coupons. I do have one now buy 2 boxes of Kellogg Cereal get $2 off produce.

frozen veggies are alot easier with Steamfresh and Allens coupons.

fresh meat: wine tags as some have said. I have used Tyson coupons on boxed chicken. There are Purdue perfect portion coupons but they are rarely on sale.

the best fresh meat deals are Shady Brook Farms ground turkey. I've found these on sale for B1G1 free and each pack was about $2.22, $2.12, different prices based on weight. They issue coupons some times, .75/1.
I got at least 75 pounds last time in dozens of packs and still eating it.
I cook it like a hamburger, and smother it with the Heinz 57 sauce, you know that stuff that is over $5 a bottle? One of the highest priced items in the store.
