There is sooooo much good information on this site...one theme I see over and over is how so many couponers are treated badly and then end up feeling badly themselves.

I just want to say if you are handing over your coupons in good faith and in an ethical manner...don't feel bad! I love saving money and getting good deals-and yes-some of the clerks are not as sweet as they should be-I genuinely think they are surprised to see the number of coupons I shop with and the total go down, down, down. I remain polite and explain the coupon(s) if they have questions...and yes, the mngr frequently has to do an override-I wait patiently. I never want the clerk to get in trouble...so I "grin and bear" it---I like to think I'm helping the next coupon mom that comes along.

And sometimes it does almost feel like stealing when I doublecheck my receipt and have to go WHOO-HOO! Feeling bad-no way...well-I do feel bad for the folks behind me. That's why I go shopping at 6am...most of the time the store is empty.

Seriously, coupon-shopping for my Soldiers is frequently the highlight of my weekend-(yes, I'm old!) Have fun and smile...afterall, those folks aren't on your Christmas Card list anyway.

    I LOVE MY SOLDIERS!!!

I am still fairly new to couponing and have had lots of whoo hoo shopping trips where I have saved 75% or more. I have also had a few where after I got home I noticed that not all my coupons showed up on my receipt. How do you make sure you get credit on all the coupons? One time I asked did that go through and the cashier said yes, but after I looked I saw it didn't. The worst part is they kept the coupon! If I messed up and didn't get the right item I still want to keep the coupon so I can use it later. Any ideas?
    Thanks!

Do you have a wish/have list? If so, update it and post it to the appropriate forum and people will be able to initiate trades with you.

Don't beat yourself up about this...I think it happens to all of us. This is a process that takes time to learn and the longer you do it, the more savvy you will become. I like to hand coupons over as the product is being scanned. I also like to wait until the end of the transaction and watch the total fall like a lead ball. It took a while to get to this point, however!

This is what I do.... I pull all my coupons that I plan on using for that store, put them in an envelope, as I pick up the item I pull it and put in in the front of my basket. Then when I get to the check outs I count my coupons, hand them over at the end and count them as they scan them, and I watch the screen to make sure it takes it off, if I have doubts I stop the cashier and have them check it out. I make sure my count and the count on the screen is the same if it isn't I tell them to recount them and to see which one didnt go through.

My question is where can I find solid information on how to really begin and become successful at couponing. Are there books to help. I need a coupon book for dummys
I need a class or I need to meet and go shopping with folks to see how it is all done.
What about even a town meeting so some interested coupon people can meet and exchange ideas,,,That's all I have to ask for ,,,not much is it ?LOL

I don't know of any books, but there is lots of good info right here on this site. Start with the "Getting started forum", there are lots of good threads there.
Depending on where you live, you might find coupon classes being taught and find a buddy. I teach classes but I am in South Tx. Feel free to PM with questions or concerns you have. Good luck to you and you will catch on, just start slow with one store at a time

    Hi,
Is there a place that anyone knows of that has a list current rebates? I know there is a forum for NBPR but I am also interested in other products such rebates for Ziploc bags etc.

    Thanks for your assistance :)

    onerex1,

What you can do it go to the database and click on the source tab, then click on "mail in rebate" and all the ones in the database will pop up.
