A steel ruler works great for 'ripping' several sheets at once. Just be sure to hold it with one hand before starting to rip. Saves on your wrist, (carpel tunnel) too. But I also use scissors a lot.

To sharpen paper cutting scissors, make several cuts through several layers of aluminum foil. I haven't tried this with my sewing scissors, but it works great for my paper scissors.

This weekend's P&G insert has a $1 off on a Scotch brand gift wrap cutter. That might work like the Pampered Chef cutter... I think these were on sale at my Safeway too... hmmm...

I love one of my haircutting pairs. I have about 5 pairs and one fits my fingers so comfortably and they slide right through. I did risk the blades on them to find a good one.
LOL, about the fabric scissors, my children have experienced the RAWR from momma when that happens![]()

I stole my kitchenaid kitchen sheers.. they cut so many pieces of paper at once.. I wish the tip wasn't so sharp, but I'm pretty careful.
I may just have to look into this further. Thanks for the great advice!
I use a rotary cutter. I saw that ILv2Shop had them and I asked her a bunch of questions about it. I bought one at Michael's or Joann's (don't remember which.) LOVE IT.
I used to have to take frequent breaks when I used scissors. I buy 10 papers a week, so it was a workout. When it took me three hours to cut my inserts I knew there had to be a better way.
I highly recommend a rotary cutter. The blades are a bit expensive, but I watch for them on ebay and I pay a lot less than I would in the store.
Coupon cutting goes SO MUCH faster with this and my hand never hurts anymore!
Glad to hear the rotary cutter works well on paper. There are also Dritz brand blades for rotary cutters (instead of the Olfa or Fiskars brands) as well as blade sharpeners that can help with the costs of blades.

I was extremely disappointed in this product. It's expensive (~$5) and the blade is very small and wears out all too quickly (and is not replaceable). Once the blade starts to dull, you have to keep a tension on the paper "just so" and hold the tool at the proper angle to get a decent cut. I used it for maybe a month before tossing it. What a waste!
I think I'm going to try the rotary style. Between mousing and cutting my wrist is constantly sore.
