That's my biggest concern, too! i am mostly teaching very low income people and most are referrals from agencies. I don't want to price gouge but I feel I need to be compensated for my time(gas, babysitter, etc)

Check with your local church and see if they will post in their flyer for you to hold a class. This is what I did, I offered my time for 2 hours one night and taught the class for free. We did ask from everyone that came to donate $5 though. When the class was over, I took the money and couponed and shopped for the food pantry with it. I did NOT get compensated for any of this , however, it got my name out there and I am now getting emails and phone calls to hold my own classes. This was my intention. To get my name out there, and also give back to the community. Now each class I have I charge for, every person that attends get a household or beauty item to bring home, along with coupons. I will also hold a raffle or even 2 for 2 baskets filled with items.The $$ from the raffle I coupon and donate to the food pantry, I do this donation once a month. I now have 9 coupon classes booked from now until April. Just a thought for anyone looking to get compensated AND also helping others out!
