Hi! Not from Manhattan, I live in Queens. I understand how everything is so expensive in Manhattan. You are smart to start couponing. LOL! Welcome to couponing. If anything, you can score more deals outside Manhattan eg. Queens, Brooklyn, etc. If you need help, just PM me. :)

Really? $11 for a box of cereal? I can not even wrap my brain around that. Not from anywhere in NY, but welcome. You are really gonna love it here. Everyone is very friendly, so don't think twice about asking questions.

Hi and welcome! Are the stores in Manhattan coupon friendly? Can you pick up drugstore deals there?

I used to live/work in the area for years, but it was in my pre-couponing days!

I am in Brooklyn off of the N train (think Coney Island). Grocery stores in Manhattan do not double and while many do in Queens we only have a few in Brooklyn that do. On rare occasions Waldbaums will triple for the entire chain but otherwise I go to Staten Island for that kind of thing (work pays all of my tolls so I don't count that in the mix).

Welcome to NYC and feel free to send me a message if you need any help or direction.

Me: I need penny and nickel stamps. USPS Employee: We don't have nickel stamps.
Me: OK well what do you have after a penny?
    USPS Employee: 2¢, 3¢, 4¢ and 5¢
Me: Fine. I will take the 5¢ ones.

No they are not. I believe the monthly deals might be the same, but the weekly flyer is definitely NOT the same. In Manhattan (at least the stores I've been to), the flyers are only 4 pages long... and only have a few deals vs the ad for everywhere else. If you take a subway out to the outerboroughs, Brooklyn etc, then you should get the bigger ad. I'm not sure about areas above Harlem - maybe they have bigger ads - check the circular online at www.cvs.com to see what is in place at your particular store. It does vary in NYC.

I live on the UES. The drugstores are coupon friendly as well as Dags and Food Emporium. In what part of the city do you live?

The CVS ad blows compared to the rest of the country, but I still manage to find a few good deals every week.
