Hi all. I'm in Clinton and shop at Shaws there. I work in Trumbull and go to Shop Rite in Derby.
I know this is off topic, but how do you like CT as compared to IN? Big change, isn't it?
If you are in Ansonia, you have a cluster of stores all in one small area that you can hit up (Big Y, Shop Rite, & Stop and Shop).
Aside from saving on groceries, you may want to check out the CVS and Rite Aid forums if you haven't already. Lots of freebies at both of those places. Both pharmacies are all in that same area of Ansonia by the grocery stores.

Yes! It's such a huge difference.
But I like it.. for the most part.
I usually go to Shop Rite, and Big Y, but not Stop n Shop, unless they have a really good deal. Oh and I go to Xpect sometimes as well.
I don't buy a bunch of groceries. It's mostly junk food.. or easy to make stuff.. His step siblings have a nice habit of being rude and eating the stuff we buy for ourselves.
I was looking at the CVS thread, and understood most of the rules, but bf still says that buying the useless stuff isn't worth it, even though at CVS it is. Maybe once I get a job, and begin using my own money instead of his, he'll see what I mean. I didn't look at Rite Aid yet. I still get overwhelmed.
I used to work at the Target right there as well, but don't anymore.
I've mentioned that in another thread, I think.
=)
Rite Aid is okay. CVS is better. Walgreens is good too if you have one nearby... the RR program is somewhat like ECBs with a few more restrictions. I wish there was a Shop Rite closer to me, the closest one is 1/2 an hour away and with three other grocery stores around me it doesn't make sense to pick that one up. Does Xpect actually let you use coupons? I thought they didn't!? My mom shops there sometimes but there isn't one anywhere near Enfield.
tell your BF it's time for a new definition of useless.![]()
I worked at Xpect for 4 days, and I never had anyone come through and use a coupon, so I'm not sure.
I'm gonna end up going back to work for them though :/
Our Walgreens is pretty far. About 15-20 minutes away, I'd say?
I really like ShopRite, they seem to have better buys than Big Y and Stop and Shop.
Hello!! My family and I moved to CT from Texas @ 6 months ago. We are loving it, but in TX I never even thought about using coupons. Now we are paying a morgage in Tx and rent in CT so it is a necessity. I hit the Big Y most often, but Shoprite does double so I make that 45 min drive occasionaly. I also enjoy Rite Aid. I am also going to make a 45 min trek to Kmart for the super doubles this week.
eeek! scary! one mortgage is enough for us, thanksverymuch. i really wish there were more grocery stores around here that doubled. i hear rumors that stop and shop doubles up to $1 but i rarely go in there so i can't confirm that. waldbaums doubles too but that is in west hartford and i can't be bothered to go down there. i hear kmart can be more trouble than it's worth cause it gets cleaned out of the good stuff sooooooo quick.
