Re: Any budget squeezers in ALABAMA? I shop In the Birmingham Area :
target, several times a year they have free coffee, artisan bread, chips, razor deals that are mm's, ceral deals that are free after target gift card
wags, lots of free stuff every month
cvs, lots of free stuff through out the year
riteaid, free stuff after scr every month
publix, lots of free grocery items after double q's and adv flyers
winn dixie, lots of good deals on meat plus they have recently amended their q policy to take 2 q's on a bogo...if your store doesn't play nice....scan the card last - yeah, after you have given the cashier your coupons - then there are no beeps.
food world/brunos, not hardly any freebies anymore...they do carry marcal though! Can get cheap angel soft after double q too. Look for paper plate deals around the holidays.
dollar general, several good deals on dog food (chef michael store q's) and hba
dollar tree, sunday papers, wrapping supplies, tooth plackers, sunglasses
family dollar, freebies like snuggle with the $2 q & free dawn when they have store coupons out - great clearance sales on grocery items too
piggly wiggly, freebies after double q's like bumble bee tuna, sweet sue poultry products bbq sauce, lipton knorr rice sides, ...they don't take ip's
fred's soda sales every few months
Truthfully I only buy a few things every few months here - like my shark mop and a fryer. Summer I buy outside chairs and tents. They have good deals on home decor/furnishings and small appliances
kroger....I drive 2 hours to get to one and go when they have megas and mm during megas. ie...vitamin water, amp drinks, playtex gloves, rolaids, bc products, and cheezits... To any newbie.....start slow.
#1
Pick one store and get good at it.
IE....the drug stores. They get confusing sometimes, so pick one and work at it. Don't give up if your store is a butt, there is another one down the road.
#2
More to saving money than just couponing.....
#3 Check out the gimmemymoneyback forum to find mirs.
Alabama doesn't have to buy the beer - so check out those rebates. ( lol, most of said the first time - but we don't drink beer ) a.) Dont' throw out your crts. Some mirs will go back 6 months. We had some recently that went from mar to sept.
File your crt's by months and if you can separate them by meat, soft drinks, salty snacks, and bottled water it will be easier on you to match up.
b.) Buy smaller amounts in groceries like meat $20, pizzas $10, water 2 24packs at a time to maximize a rebate.
Most important tip...wait on the sales to stockpile. Don't stockpile on a sale. Know if your stockpile price is a good one or not!
I made the mistake in the beginning and bought stuff at good prices. Now I know my best price is free to mm on most items.
