help!

I tried to add a coupon to the database when it was not already there but before I could hi submit it keep giving me an error message that says "please specify a valid insert date and issue mm/dd/yy"

Which I did but it still kept giving me the same message. Now this week 11/09/08 I got a third extra insert that I havent seen mentioned...so is that why??!!

The insert date format is MM-DD-YY insert

Example 11-09-08 SS

The expiration date uses the back slash / as is 12/31/2008

Perhaps that is the problem that you used slashes instead of dashes.

Actually, / is a forward slash, because the top is pointing "forward" in the direction we write. \ is a back slash.

It's important to us programming types.

In other news, I haven't seen anyone mention the new notifications - I love getting the heads-up that something's going on with my database trades! Thank you!

I am new to this site and am interested in using the database. I do not plan to trade coupons but am interested in the "keep" function of the trader part of the database. How can I best use the database and is it necessary for me to become a trader in training just so I can access this part of the database(can I do well enough with just the basic search feature)

Also, thanks to all of you who post detailed explanations re. couponing. Especially when using the CVS bucks. It takes a litttle time to "wrap" my head around the concept!

I don't know the answers to your questions. I just wanted to tell you that you might want to consider trading. That is how I am getting my "hot" coupons. Some states have great coupons that mine doesn't have. Especially tearpads, they are great.

i just had to post... since joining, i've been waiting in the wings on trading, not sure of how to get started and a bit nervous to try it, honestly. so today i started using the c.d., setting up my wants and haves, getting familiar with how it works and navigating my way around.

i am simply amazed with how great this thing is! the kicker was going to the potential/actual trades tab, and you can see who has the coupons you want! how cool is that??

i just want to say thank you to whomever keeps the c.d. neat and fresh and easy to use. i love it, and can't wait to get all my info into my wants/haves so i can give trading a go.

thanks to bugface711's wonderful newbie trading tips, setting up my want/have list and having it on my sig was a breeze! so for all you newbies out there who are like me, get your feet wet and go to the "trader in training" forum for fantastic info.! trade on!

why am i an idiot?

i see the database link at the top but its just pulling up a list of all the coupons and when they came out, etc. where is the lists of haves/wants?

You're not slow, you're just looking for features that are only available to the members in our Trading user group.

Follow the link here and follow the instructions to join the group and as soon as you're approved, you'll be able to see the other tabs.
