BUMP
Just tried checking the link to find out which newspaper has which inserts locally because for some reason I am only getting the Redplum in my every week. The first Sunday of January I had all three inserts (SS, RP, & PG&E) so I am kinda stumped why I only have one. I used to have a link on my old laptop which posted when the inserts are put out so maybe I am just fretting for no reason? Has the RP been the only insert the last two Sundays?

There have been SS inserts the past couple weeks. One last week, and I believe it was two the previous week -- or perhaps the week before that. With all the interest in couponing, the inserts have really been in flux. The "official line" that many newspapers are giving is that sales at stores have increased so dramatically, that they don't have enough inserts to fill the newspapers. Many times they are showing up in stores with fewer inserts than subscribers get, because of this.
On the uglier side of things, some thieves are stealing inserts from the newspapers at stores and I've even heard of people stealing them off porches right after the newspaper is delivered.
SS has ALWAYS been a problem here. Even before couponing got so popular, the SS was often missing from many of our newspapers -- and we were subscribers! Now, I have read that SS has dropped the newspaper entirely.
In some regions of the country, RP has quit running inserts in local papers and started sending them through the mail.
Basically, you've just got to know what inserts are supposed to be in your newspaper and watch for them. Not an ideal situation, at all.
There is a coupon insert preview thread here at HCW. If you watch that, you will know what inserts you MIGHT get in your newspaper each week. However, that isn't a guarantee your paper will have them.
Thanks Gardencook!
