Dumpster Diving?

I do have a couple of questions. Anyone that has dumpster dived at an apartment complex that you don't live in.....have you been stopped by security? That's a huge worry for me. Can we legally just go into any dumpster and pull out papers? I'm kind of a bit timid about this but really want more coupons. I have a pretty good pile of paper and electronic ones going now but I need more and am considering dumpster diving rather than approaching stores.

We go every week, a friend and I ...tons of complexes around here, and have never even been approached..yesterday we hit 7 complexes looking for albertsons doublers, found tons of inserts, only 2 sheets of doublers in all 7 complexes...lol!!
