How to get Multiple Coupon Inserts

Hi all, I just finished watching my first episode of Extreme Couponing on TLC and the one thing that both participants didn't explain or tell was where/how they got multiple coupon inserts. One lady had more than 50 inserts per week....how in the world did she get that many inserts? I subscribe to one Sunday paper and that's it. Does anyone on here have any idea? I'm baffled.

Well, I know that a couple of the ladies go dumpster diving for the extra inserts. Another goes around the neighborhood to foreclosed homes and takes the newspapers. Me personally, I subscribe to the paper. Once I see what coupons are in there, I will go out and buy 4-5 more papers. Seems like alot out of pocket, but it is AWESOME to get stuff for free

I always suggest to newbies to get one paper per person in your household. Maybe check with your paper and see what a Sunday subscription would cost and see if they have any discounts on getting multiple papers. As well as checking my church recycling bin, we have a free paper where I live that carries the Smartsource inserts so I always grab a few when I see them. I average 30-50 inserts this way. Also, be creative! How many people do you know that get the paper but don't coupon? How many clip just the coupons they want but toss the rest? Ask your family, friends and neighbors! AND if you do get the Sunday paper delivered try to creat a relationship with your carrier...you never know what they may have leftover after their deliveries. Good Luck!

I meet the newspaper delivery guy on Monday mornings after his route and buy the unwanted papers from him. Instead of paying $2 a pop he charges my $2 for 10 to 20 papers.

Also, you can ask gas stations in your area what they do with their leftover Sunday papers. Sometimes they are just thrown away. Ask if you can pick the papers up on Monday mornings.

I know that some of those people on that show bought coupons from a clipping site, and didn't include that in the cost of what they were getting.

I just asked my local circle K if I could have their left over papers and they told me sure!!! YAY I'm so excited!!!

Another way I have gotten a few more inserts is to go to a Starbucks if there is one near you or on your route to church on Sun. morning, and pick through the used newspaper basket they have (a basket or magazine holder where they let people who are finished with their papers leave them for others to read). But you have to get there at the right time...too early and everyone is still reading them...too late and they are already picked over by someone else or thrown away for the day.

I get mine from a friend who delivers the paper. I get the leftover ones the following day.
Always remember to "reward" whoever is giving you coupons. There are others out there who want my connection but since I give her "goodie bags'( I just put a few of my recent freebies or cheapies in a small gift bag) every few weeks she continues to give em to me.
