Our paper with inserts comes out on Saturday. The paper is $1.50 (or $1.00 if you buy in Saratoga county). How many I buy depends on how many of the coupons I'll use from them. This past week I bought 8. It sounds like alot but I already used more than $30 worth of coupons from them and plan on using quite a few more.

If you are a new subscriber, sometimes you can get a deal. Also, check to see if your local paper will deliver for Sunday only. It'll cut down on the cost, but you will be required to pay a certain amount of weeks/months ahead, in most cases.

Personally I only buy one paper a week. My local gas station saves me the inserts, and my dad swipes the remaining papers from his work Monday mornings.

I personally don't subscribe to any papers, I buy whole inserts on ebay and I also work at a grocery in a small town that lets me come in just before they close on Sunday and take all the coupon inserts since they just count them and then recycle them.

The other day I did get a phone call from a city paper offering me 13 weeks of the Sunday paper for free and I accepted cause I figured if it's free, why not? And if I decide to subscribe after that they might offer a discount.
