Inserts different around the country?

I've been couponing for a few weeks. I have a binder system and love it!

I've been getting the Sunday newspaper at my house and also getting my parent's Sunday newspaper.

I also ordered this week each of the inserts from Ebay at five a piece. So, I start cutting up my Smart Source inserts from Ebay and there are a million coupons that didn't come in my inserts here locally. Is that normal? The P&G inserts were the same and I haven't looked over the Red Plum good enough, but I think they're a bit different, too.

I was wondering because sometimes when I do my coupon matchups to sales at say CVS or Walgreens, they have coupons listed for 2/21 that I didn't get and I thought maybe it was just a typo until I got these ebay inserts and realized they were published.

So, anyways, is that normal?

There are several others too - you just have to google it.

I hope you don't mean you paid $5 for the extra inserts on Ebay. You can get whole inserts from "Coupons by Dede" and many other coupon clipping services for way less than that. Link to them from this site because they get a benefit, not sure what. Go to the Resources tab above, and find the coupon clipping sites to review them.

Haha, sorry should have clarified - I get five of each insert - only spend a couple dollars.

She is in Texas (and I am too) so I get her coupons pretty quick. There are lots of other services like hers so you might want to choose based on what's closest to you. Just be sure to link from here so HCW gets the benefit.

yeh I fine that mine are different to...some I get but the value is lower or I dont get them at all that week often they show up a week or two later...

I think its better to just buy the certin coupons you need instead of buying whole inserts off of ebay for alot of time you dont use enough from the inserts to get back what you paid for them and the shipping which can be up there in price...and alot of times you can get those coupons you need right here for less money or by trading coupons you dont need..it takes awhile to learn to do trades and its alot of messgaing one another but it saves you money.

Not only are there regional differences around the country, sometimes there are different versions of the inserts in the same paper. I dumpster dive so I can get alot of inserts. And although almost all are from the Tampa Tribune, there are differences in which coupons are on which page and sometimes a few entirely different ones. The info on the spine shows which counties get which version.

I know two websites that show the upcoming inserts. They have not been given to you in any other responses to your question, such as coupon preview I've never heard of, I use 2 other sites. I find these two sources to be almost identical. Occassionally there is a difference in the "amount off" or the "quantity". ex: one might be $1/1 and the other be .75/2 items.
I agree it may be cheaper to just trade pphf for the coupons you want.
I am so far into couponing and live alone and stick to food and have 3 freezers full, I am basically not finding much I can use each week until my stock goes down. However, even when I am needing coupons, I find that most of the insert ends up in the trash can, so why buy any from Ebay.
I just pick out the coupons I can use and come here or other coupon site and place an (iso) thread. You can expect to have to trade anywhere from .01 per coupon to maybe .05. I never pay more, or rarely do.
Cheaper to trade for 10 coupons for $1/1 xyz cereal than to buy 10 copies of the insert.

Coupon values are very regional. I throw away $1/2 whereas I can use .75/2 or I throw away $1/1 and I can use .75/1. In fact some times a .50/1 is worth more to me than a $1/1. Because I can double or possibly triple the .50, and rarely able to double the $1/1. There are some areas of Pa. where some stores always double $1/1. So, if they get the .75/1 on xyz item and I have the $1/1, then they have what I need and I have what they need. They save more by doubling my $1/1 and I save more by doubling their .75/1, so I look for such trades. Just post a (iso) or a (have) and trades will usually happen.
Unless you are going to get enough of each coupon to be able to offer people 10 of each, it may not be worth your while, probably to do any trading with what you have. I want trades to be at least 10 coupons for my stamp. If you only have 5 of a coupon, that is normally not worth my while, to trade you pphf and a stamp. I'd look for someone with 10-15 of that coupon. If you are going to be someone with 5-6-7 inserts a week you may be more of an (I'm in search of) than a (I have for trade) trader. Sometimes you might luck into a trade where you have 5 of 3 different coupons that some one wants. You can post all you have in a thread on the trade board. I used to get any where from 1-35 inserts week and lost my source. Now, I get one or none. I just go to the sites that tell me what the inserts will be, look it over, find something I can use and come here to trade for what I need. And beware there are fake and phony coupons on Ebay. I'd be leary of using Ebay unless the person has some good feedback.

There are LOTS of coupon preview websites. I have at least 5 bookmarked. Some get the info sooner than others.

There is no need to throw coupons away. There are plenty of military families overseas that would do anything to get their hands on them AND they can use them up to 6 months AFTER they expire. There is even a forum on this site for doing this. It's very easy, takes only a little time and not much expense either, all for a good cause.
