AJC double paper increase

Sorry if this is the wrong place. Is this everywhere or just in metro south?

The double coupon sunday papers are now $3. I found them at that price at walmart and kroger. :( Last weekend they were still $2.50 so this is sudden.

Now you get the early sunday edition and the late sunday edition, I have no idea if that is the change or if it's just a change in metro south. Anyone else?

They were like that in Gainesville, GA too. We are Northeast of Atlanta. I went to CVS, Walgreens and two Publix's and the double papers were all $3. I guess they are now adding tax as well to the paper. One of the cashiers that I talked to said that they didn't use to have tax added to them. I wonder why the increase?

I noticed today that the double issue of AJC which has been $2.50 for a long time is now $3.00. Still better than the $4.00 it would cost to buy two papers but not as good of a deal. I miss the days when they were $2.50 and there was a $1/1 coupon every week for it on AJC's website.

In Gwinnett county (Lawrenceville area), too! The cashier at Walmart this morning swore that they were always that price......

My cashier didn't even know they sold the paper or that there were coupons in there .

I guess it's everywhere then. Bummer.

I'm in NE Georgia and we are paying $3.50 for ONE paper!!! I've started using a clipping service because I can't justify the cost for the coupons that I use.

The AJC double issues from my CVS were marked $3, but rung up $2.50. I'm wondering if the $1 street vendors will go up, too?

Our prices went up in Texas about 8 months or so ago, we pay $3.89 for double papers, $2 for single papers now. If you have a subscription it winds up being more for Sunday only papers....can't remember the price now because I got so mad about it I cancelled my subscription!

Oh my I am in the ATL area and didn't get a paper yesterday am hoping to pick one up today. Thanks for the heads up on this. Heck we don't even get a AJC here in my city I have to go to the next city to get one.
