Went to pick up my normal papers and there were no RP inserts in any of them. I check a few other stores and that was the same deal. I called the customer service department of the inquirer and they said there was only going to be one insert today.
I just checked the redplum website and the only philly paper carrying the rp is the philadelphia tribune. I think anyone who gets the inquirer should call both redplum and the inquirer to complain. The inquirer will take a bit hit in sales without the redplum as it is the largest city paper in eastern PA.
Please try to help get the redplum back into the inquirer.

I only buy the Inquirer for the coupons and am not sure having just Smart Source will justify the cost. Looks like a new wave of couponing is on the way of being all online. Stupid DND coupons!!
I just learned how to do this in March and am so disappointed this seems to be coming to an end already. I did sign up to get the one copy delivered to my home but that is about 5 short.
After a little research I realize this has been going on since Feb 09 across the country but I had no idea.
I am going to compare the Wilmington News Journal to my one Inquirer Smart Source and see what is missing this week. Then next week I will check out the Baltimore Sun and see if it still has the RP.

It is my understanding that it was not the Inquirer that did this but Red Plum themselves. They feel they can reach a larger audience by mailing them direct. Makes no sense to me at all!
I did send an email to Valassis/Red Plum but this has been well underway for some time. It just so happens that it just hit the Inquirer.

I did research on redplum.com and typed in a philly address........it said to look in the philadelphia tribune for your redplum insert. Do you know if the phildelphia tribune has any good coupons? Also, make sure to talk to the inquirer. I don't understand this because they had RP in last week's paper. Plus, all surrounding area papers still get the red plum insert...(reading eagle, harrisburg patriot news etc.)....Call red plum and the inquirer and tell them we want our red plum back.

I went to three stores today looking for an Inquirer with Red Plum inserts. Then I came here to see if anyone else had the same problem.
I live outside the Phila area. My newspaper still carries Red Plum, but we never have all the coupons the Phila edition does.
I just wanted to mention that after doing some further research, I wouldn't expect the PG insert or the redplum insert in the inquirer next week. From what I've read, the PG insert is distributed by red plum. With that said, it looks like for now that the inquirer will only carry the smartsource. We need everyone who gets the inquirer to call and tell them we want our coupons back. I find it hard to believe that red plum stopped the insert. I spoke with CS at the inquirer and he told me it may have to do with cutting costs.
I also want to mention that on redplum.com, I put in a random philly address and it said to look for the red plum in the philadelphia tribune. I don't understand why, if red plum made this decision, red plum would take the insert out of the inquirer but keep it in the tribune. Because of this, I think the inquirer made the choice.
BTW, Kulis, what is your local paper? Today I purchased the Harrisburg Patriot News which did have both SS and RP. Their coupons aren't bad, but not as good as the inquirer.
Here in the Lehigh Valley I get The Morning Call. We're not a big enough market to get all the coupons scheduled for any particular week. We get all the inserts, just not all the coupons. Also The Inquirer is more likely to have .50/1 while The Morning Call will have $1/2.
