Thank you for contacting us concerning our participation in Red Plum inserts. I know we have advertised with Valassis for many years and I will pass your comments along to the team responsible for this choice. You might also wish to share this information with your local paper. I know they charge Valasiss for the insertion and potentially, they could not come to a price agreement.

You are welcome to visit our brand websites as each brand will frequently have an online coupon. coupons.com is also a great place to get coupons. I have used it and consider it to be a very safe site. Kellogg frequently places coupons there.

We appreciate your interest in our company and products.

Here's the letter I'm using...I change it up a bit for each company:

Hello, I would like to voice my concern about your advertising in the RedPlum coupon insert. Recently Valassis, who puts out the RedPlum inserts, pulled their coupon insert out of our local papers (namely, the Pittsburg Post Gazette). We now only receive one RedPlum coupon insert in the mail. As a mother of three, I depend on the coupon savings in order to feed my family the brands they enjoy. I also use coupons along with local grocery store sales in order to purchase extra food to donate to our local food bank, charities, and family member who are on fixed incomes.

So weekly, it's not uncommon for me to purchase multiple Sunday papers for each member of my family in order to receive several coupon inserts.

Now that the RedPlum insert will no longer be in our Sunday paper, or any Sunday papers in this area, I will no longer be able to purchase those manufacturer's products who decide to use the RedPlum as a manner of coupon distribution. I will have to choose to support those companies who continue to offer coupon savings through our Sunday paper.

Our family has grown to love many of your food brands, such as your XXXX Insert brands/products you like here XXX, just to name a few. I'm sure many others in this area are in the same position as my family, and will begin to cut back on brands which no longer offer coupons to us in our Sunday papers.

I truly hope that your company realizes the loss of sales Valassis' decision could cost you in this area, and will rethink advertising in the RedPlum coupon insert.

HOT We're not getting RP inserts anymore!!??

I tried finding a thread for this - point me in the right direction if it's already been started.

I live in NE Ohio and RedPlum has decided to d/c putting their inserts in our local paper. Here's a link to a story done on our local news: Fewer coupons found in Sunday Plain Dealer

An email campaign has started in our area to companies that regularly offer coupons in RP to let them know how unhappy we are. Once I know for sure there hasn't been a thread already started for this I'll post more info.

I've seen two threads..one I posted in..I don't think the title said RP in either..

I called L'Oreal, they basically told me, that several test market areas have shown no reduction in coupon usage, so they have no problem with RP's practices..so I'm not sure how much can be done about it...

I am very frustrated. Like Meems said in the early stages of this is seems like nothing can be done. Some of the companies I have contacted have replied that they will notify their marketing departments. Others have not even addressed my comments at all. It's very frustrating.

I had contacted Red Plum 3 times and yet to hear from them at all.

I am glad there was a news story, but I don't feel it was entirely accurate. Sure we can sign up and maybe the insert will be mailed, but what insert will we get. And we only get 1. We no longer have the choice to buy more.

I am in the same situation. I sent emails to the companies which advertising in the Red Plum and received answer form Nestle that I should contact either Red Plum or Plain Dealer. So I wrote to Red Plum and here is their answer:

To add your name and address to our mailing list please click thru this link http://www.valassis.com/1024/Contact/contact_home.aspx (or paste the URL string in the address bar of your browser) and follow the directions to add your name to our mailing list. It takes about 5 or 6 weeks for the process to be completed.

I have already added my name to their mailing list. Better have one insert than none.

I stopped getting the redplum in the mail. I am getting the cover but no q's. I asked my mailman about them and he said that they were coming from downtown like that.

I saw in one of the posts someone mentioned texas..Arizona..and, like I said it sounds like this has actually been going a while in other test markets according to L'Oreal people...

I have a feeling this will hit everyone before it's all said & done...
