Have you noticed this trend?

When I first joined HCW almost 2 years ago, I started emailing companies every 3 months for freebie q's. I was able to get quite a few this way

Over the last year and a half, I've noticed that maybe 1/3 of the companies I now email, no longer send out coupons :sad:

Most of the responses I get are "Thanks for contacting us. Here is where you can find coupons for our products...."

I've started making notes of what companies they are so I don't waste my time. This was always a great way to get better q's than what we get in our inserts but lately it seems harder and harder :shrug7:

I guess everyone is tightening their belts.

Wow, you have motivation. In my new to HCW flurry I emailed tons of companies and didn't get a whole lot of anything. And I didn't find out about autofill until a few months ago. Maybe I should start back up?

I'm not getting a lot of we'll send you coupon emails back either - might just be that the trend is getting more popular and more and more people are sending emails that they decided to stop sending coupons.

I think I got it by downloading the google toolbar. You enter in any information you want to be put in to a site. I have name, address, email, etc. set in mine. When I get to site that asks me all that info, I'll hit the autofill button at the top of my browser and it automatically fills it all in. It is awesome and such a timesaver. Usually if a freebie site won't let autofill work, I won't sign up for it, lol.

I do get some decent q's still - just doesn't see as plentiful...

I'm also noticed, that depending on who answers your email gets you a freebie q or just a $$/off q...

For example: I wrote Seapak last year, using 2 addys (my own, and my mom's using mom's name) - 1 address got a freebie q, and the other got the $1/1 q

I don't have the autofill thingy...I need it!!

I have noticed if you state your children love there products you get better coupons.The companys are thinking of future young customers for there products.Just my line of thinking.

I used my daughter loves your product, my family's a loyal customer, and my husband's unemployed (which is true)... I had great luck so far... I will try them all over again in 3 months...

I've not had a problem except with Olay (poo heads) which is funny as I really ADORE one of their face washes and wrote a long e-mail telling them so. I got back only "we'll mention it to the people who are in charge" Grrrr. Otherwise I've not had an issue getting either frees or really good Qs from evry company I've contacted.

I've worked in marketing and research panels though so I know what they want to hear or don't want to hear from customers. My praises and complains are written keeping this in mind while sticking to the truth behind my complaint or praise. *shrugs*

I always mention my kids (my 7 month old - haha - I don't say how old he is, lol, and another on the way), and I say how much my *family* and I enjoy things, and how we are very loyal and always have a few boxes of x on hand, etc.

What else?? I always try to *suck up* as much as I can =D

The rest were $$ off - even the Huggies q's I got for complaining were crappy (IMO)

DS had a blowout last week so I complained, gave them the package info and everything else they requested...I got $2/1 Jumbo pack+ in the mail =/

I guess it's better than the 1.50 insert q...
